@saintsfearful ok, what is wrong with the bill? Why do you want to teach sexual orientation to kids?

Mike is so wrong on the trans issue is it rather sad. No wonder he has no actual argument but insults and cursing instead.
3
It isn't that. It is that this prevents teachers from discussing sexual orientation at all. Even though you read a curriculum many teachers still discuss issues outside of it.

@nersharific813 for some reason my comments get deleted. But here it is in short. Simple, the teacher can say that some adults decide to raise a family as two moms or two dads. Just like some families only have a dad or have a mom, you know, single parents. That's it. Done. Easy.

@autistichammer618 who is saying that is forbidden? What is forbidden is if a teacher were to say they are gay, and/or a student asks a teacher what it means to be gay. How do you answer that? Go. This will be interesting.
2
Indoctrination. Also, we have a culture of hyper-individuality that many people who are gay and trans and have no unique trait to them. So instead they want to express the fact they are gay and trans on people as if we should care.

@j0j0dartiste21 well, I guess I can act like Mike and just resort to insults and name calling. The fact is Mike is wrong which is why he resorts to name calling and insults. The trans issue is complex which is why research is still being done on it. There is little data to suggest any kind of gender transformation at any age works. What is known is that mental illness is challenging all around as you can't quantify it and many times mental illness is misdiagnosed. So apply that to the trans issue. How many doctors are diagnosing someone as trans and are doing so incorrectly? At this point most likely a lot. But when someone brings up that concern they are called a bigot as opposed to someone trying to better understand the issue. Some people may be fine being trans, but how many are told they are trans and the after transitioning are no better off? A good amount. How many thought they were trans, did not transition and ended up fine? A good amount.

@j0j0dartiste21 so who wants to inform themselves? Mike does not which is why he stops any discussion with insults.
1
@j0j0dartiste21 because some people regret it. Or even after they transition they still feel miserable. Not saying all, but some do. Not treating them as freaks either. You jumping to that conclusion is insulting me and making it seem as if I don't care when I do. I realize this is a complex issue. You, to me, are no different than wanting to medicate kids because they are too energetic as an 8 year old and they are medicated their entire life. How do I struggle with empathy? You are simply dismissing me when the fact is this is a complex issue, like many mental related issues. And how are my feelings hurt? I am pointing out Mike is clearly wrong here because he dismisses one side that has a legit argument. But not just dismisses them but name calls them in the proces.

@j0j0dartiste21 I listen an learn as well. Here is another thing, what annoys people is when they announce to the world they are trans or gay. If you are so secure about yourself you would not have to do that. That is actually a part of this bill. Some teachers are threatening to leave the profession because they are scared to say they are trans to the kids. Well, they shouldn't be saying that. It is similar to this. If you go to a McDonalds drive thru and the person there said "Welcome to McDonalds, I am straight so you know, can I take your order?" You will be annoyed. There is a time and place for such discussion, a classroom is not that.

@ToxicAudri there is a time and place to teach kids certain issues. Teaching a 2nd grader about different sexual orientation is not that. Also, going off script on a personal issue is not that time and place either. There are sexual education courses and lesson plans in place for a reason. In 2016 an AL teacher was placed on leave because she gave a math quiz that had gang related issues that had questions like "Tyrone knocked up 4 girls in the gang. There are 20 girls in his gang. What is the exact percentage of girls Tyrone knocked up?" Is that the right time to talk about the issue of gangs? No. Give less sensitive math questions. It would be no different than if a teacher were to say "Timmy has 20 friends, 10 boys and 10 girls, he is sexually attractive to 6 of the boys and 4 of the girls, what percent of him is gay?" Not appropriate. There is a time and place to discuss sexuality and sexual orientation. That age group is not and not in certain subject matters. And even when the parents should be aware. This has nothing to do with hate.
1
@Azrael_Garou they can talk about their spouses, it will just be limited as always. Also, teachers should never get that personal with the kids. It goes for if the teacher is straight or gay.
1
@nersharific813 as for sexual orientation, that is something between a kid and their parents. In high school if Johnny is dating Suzie, or if Johnny is dating Timmy, the teachers should not be talking about those relationships.
1
Where in the bill does the word "gay" show up? Still waiting for the left to point that out.
1
Medical care is different than education. Two different issues.

@autistichammer618 you can talk about LBGTQ, what is stopping you? The FL bill stops it from being discussed in schools at certain age groups.
1
@ToxicAudri there are questions if they do work. And I feel we need more discussion on it. Honestly, I feel it should not be completely banned but highly restricted. Also, this is being done at the state level which republicans support, state governments. If other states oppose such laws then don't enact them at your state. If it works fine in those states then so be it. This issue is not black and white though.
1
@CorwinFound for some reason my comment seem to have been deleted. I guess Youtube does not like dissenting arguments.
1
@CorwinFound state rights are important. You bring up interracial marriage. Marriage is a state issue. If a state allowed marriage between a man and woman they have to allow interracial marriage via the 14th amendment. All rights are in this nation are what the citizens have to control government if needed. The idea of state rights is that many issues are subjective and thus are left up to the states as what works with one culture in one state is different to another culture in another state.

@autistichammer618 ok, so a 2nd grade boy who has other friends who are boys will say he is now gay because he loves hanging out with his friends who are boys. Don't you see that as a bit confusing?
1
@autistichammer618 or when a boy's dad says to their son that they love them, that boy will view his dad as gay. Don't you see that as a bit confusing?
1
@fredericomolina1692 I agree, the same argument can be made about being straight or hetero, which is why it should not be discussed with kids by teachers in school. So again, how do you explain to a student what being gay, or straight, or bi, etc. means?
1
@j0j0dartiste21 ok, what kind of love? Here, you seem confused, but let me remind you. Being gay or straight is a sexual orientation. That should help you along. And so what if they misinterpret it? Now they are confused. They go home to their parents, they say they are gay. Or they say daddy is gay, etc. and now you have a mess on your hands. Now the parents have to explain the actual meaning of the words. Don't you see the problem?
1
@j0j0dartiste21 also, I have had sex with many women and did not love most of them. Consider that.
