@1369Stiles Fauci is not an expert at this point but a hack. Did you hear his recent interview? He claimed he was "the science". I can list many things he did wrong. For example, he claimed he was concerned about public health. But in saying that he only focused on the virus while completely ignoring mental illness and increases in substance abuse.

@SJ-uk7vl if we are in a pandemic, how are states that are wide open like TX, FL, MO, NE, WY, etc. doing just fine with no high death rate? Please tell. If the virus is really that dangerous those states that are going about with no restrictions would be seeing a massive death rate. They aren't. They are doing fine. I was at a bar last weekend. Fully packed, no masks. In fact, it is across my street and is like that almost every night. If covid was so dangerous where I live at would be seeing high deaths and over time that bar, and others, will have less and less people for people being sick and dead. That is not the case.

@SJ-uk7vl the problem is the left does not think. Listen to Mike here. He is saying "experts say" while never mentioning said experts and never questions them. You guys will criticize big pharma but then praise them on the vaccine. You will complain about the current healthcare system but them praise doctors like Fauci and the CDC. It isn't as if doctors can't be wrong. Look at the opioid situation doctors created. Or for scientists. They found a way to split the atom and instead of powering the world, especially with Thorium that is way safer then Uranium, those scientists, working for the government, focused on Uranium and made a bomb. But you guys are so quick to listen to those same scientists and government without question. They say we are in a pandemic, wear a mask, take this novel vaccine, keep wearing masks and you keep doing it.

@Dan Wruck exactly. Now Biden is in office most states are open. Mainly just having mask mandates. The masks and these new variants are just there to remind us there is still a "pandemic" and we can lockdown or change rules (such as more mail in ballots) at any time.

The reason is that the thought of someone possessing a gun has deterred criminals away from doing a crime. Where I live now is very pro gun and home break ins are low when the person is at home. The left is creating fear mongering stories about it where scientists like Myles Allen and Mike Hulme have said such talking points are dangerous. @BRAINSPLATTER16 you literally just contradicted yourself. You said the vaccine does not work 100%, but we need to get people vaccinated to get back to normal. So, to get back to normal we need to vaccinate people with a vaccine that is not 100% effective. That makes zero sense.

Well sure, we have the 3rd highest population in the world. We are 21st in covid cases per capita. You see, I can give facts and break them down, and all you and others do here is call me a troll. @charleswettish8701 I support the idea of a limited federal government and stronger local government. That is a conservative approach. The reason is that the more local government is the more it serves the people. The design of the nation is that the federal government is there for two things, deal with foreign affairs and commerce between states. Everything else is left up to the states where every government must work within the restraints of the federal Constitution. So you ask me for a specific policy, that is one. Limited federal government and stronger local and state governments. With other policies, it all depends on the local community and their culture. I know what the left stands for. That is expanding the federal government and intruding on other people's lives. So yes, I answered your question. If you want to talk about other policies we can. I can break down the pros and cons of them and why some local communities will benefit and others won't.

And many on the left will say "they are voting against their best interest". This is one big reason why Trump won. People are sick of the liberal elites calling others stupid for having a different lifestyle and a different belief. No, people are not voting against their best interest. @1369Stiles Fauci should consider mental health and substance abuse. Or there should be a team of people discussing this, not just Fauci. Oh, we have the CDC, but they are not bringing up mental health and substance abuse until months after the fact. And still they don't talk about how the covid restrictions are causing such problems. But what you are admitting is that we should not be listening to only Fauci but instead a team of experts such as have Fauci, but also an economist, a psychologist, etc. And have them within government and also have independent sources. But you are not suggesting that.

You have a vaccine that hardly works that now requires boosters that might have to be done twice year. And now we have these variants coming out that will require new boosters. Same can be said with other developed nations. There are many undeveloped nations that have low vaccination rates. We can help out by telling people who were already infected and have natural immunity, or kids who are at low risk to hold off on taking the vaccine and we can distribute it out globally to those who need it.

Long term immunity exists. In fact, according to a Science article from May 2020 people already had immunity from Sars 1. The article is entitled "T cells found in COVID-19 patients ‘bode well' for long-term immunity"

@BRAINSPLATTER16 ok, appears to be a Nature article talking about bone marrow. I read that as well and it suggests long term immunity. So what is your point? I found it interesting. There is another article, I think in Nature or BMJ that talk about plasmas in bone as well suggesting long term immunity. Future advice, give the title and the journal it exists in. It makes it easier.

It is more of a way to remind us we are still in a "pandemic". It is the same as wearing masks. Why if there is a vaccine? Because it is a reminder we are in a "pandemic". That, so if our leaders want to change the rules, such as more mail in ballots and lockdowns, they can.

Truck drivers are paid very well. There are issues with trucking, especially in CA. One, they have restrictions on how old an engine can be. When you start doing that trucking companies have a hard time keeping trucks on the roads. Another are restrictions on how many hours they can drive. They are very limited thus limiting transportation. Also, truckers are away from home more. For supply, it is low because people refuse to work. Why when the government is just going to give money away? And many nations are still struggling economically. Many are locking down again and saw multiple waves. One nation that is out of it is Sweden. No lockdowns, now more waves. And Trump did encourage the vaccine. It was democrats that did not.
