It would have made inflation worse. The only reason why republicans did not pick up more seats is because independents see Trump as toxic. If democrats double down on what they have been doing and DeSantis runs in 2024 it would be bad news for democrats.

@nasis18 the whole "inflation is a world wide issue" is a lame excuse. There are murders in other nations. Does that mean we don't try to prevent it? "Also, the biggest drivers of inflation are supply chain issues, and corporate greed. Not monetary policy." So no corporations are greedy? Also, yes, we do have supply chain issues. That would be alleviated if people were motivated to work. They are not under current democrat leadership. Worker participation is low. So take low productivity and add in more spending and you have inflation. I did watch the video. Did more younger individuals show up? Sure. But again, a lot voted against Trump because they see him as toxic. Look at FL, republicans blew it out of the water.

@nasis18 how about you try to educate me? It appears that you do not know what you are talking about so you are running away. From you comment it appears you do not know what you are talking about. I saw that. So I am here trying to educate you. You mentioned "corporate greed". Why are corporations greedy now but not in the past?
1
@salomaogomes7311 here I am. I never run away. How about you tell me why are corporations greedy now? Why weren't they in the past?
1
@nasis18 answer this very simple question. Why are corporations greedy now? Why weren't they in the past? What changed?
1
@nasis18 seems like I stumped you as you cannot answer a very simple question.
1
@salomaogomes7311 they have always been greedy? So isn't inflation always a problem? Why isn't inflation always this high if corporations have always been greedy? And what regulations were dropped recently?
1
@salomaogomes7311 ok, what regulatory measures? And when were they removed? List them. And supply chain issues can be alleviated in the US if people are motivated to work. They are not under the current administration.
1
@salomaogomes7311 also, spending money when people are not willing to work causes inflation.
1
@salomaogomes7311 "how about there not being a way for corporations to buy politicans through campaing donations? Citizens United isnt even 2 decades old." Citizens United ruling was in 2010. So from then until now why was there low inflation? "Lol, "motivaded to work"...yeah, because people sure were motivaded to work on the previous one, right?, what with all the literal thousands of deaths happening daily and the hellish neo liberal scape of having work three jobs just to make ends meet." The percent of someone working more than on job is less than 5%. And people die all the time. Fact is under democrat leadership people are not motivate to work and do their part to help society. And why would they? Democrats don't care about you.

@salomaogomes7311 uh, spending money is what turned a recession into a depression. In 1921 there was a recession. Hoover, who wa the US Secretary of Commerce at the time, was asked to come up with a plan to get out of it. By the time he created one the recession was ending, so the federal government did nothing and the recession ended in less than a year. Ok, so the recession of 1929 hits. Hoover implements his plan he developed years earlier and the recession kept going. FDR enters and expands it with even more spending. So we have a depression. So yeah, let us look at history. It does not go well for you.
1
@salomaogomes7311 it is not agreed upon. When did it take nearly a decade to get out of a depression? Never. You look at other recessions, the fastest recovery was when the federal government did basically nothing, like what happened in the 1921 recession. The federal government did nothing, over in less than a year. Now the recession of 1929, massive spending by Hoover and then FDR, lasted for a decade. Figures.

@Lumi_Lumi13 "but more repubs than dems DID die of the virus" There is no evidence to suggest that. If there is you have to factor in age. Those who vote republicans typically are older. But I won't imagine a leftist factoring in other variables.
1
The main take away is this. Republicans need to move away from Trump. As great as he was as president, he is toxic in the eyes of many independents. If republicans run DeSantis they will win big time in 2024. The reasons are that DeSantis has had success and democrats are just going to double down on their insanity over the next 2 years. Republicans did not do as well mainly because people view Trump as toxic. It has nothing to do with how good the democrats are because they are terrible.
1
So vote republican?
1
@melgibson7313 not crying. Unlike you I don't rely strongly on government. After these results I just moved on, went to work and went on with my life. Look around, no riots. Why? Because those on the right moved on. It is the left that cry and riot when they lose.
1
We are divided because of a lot of lies and propaganda by the media and our major institutions. That, and the internet does not help.

@ComradeCrab93 did you forget the impeachments the democrats did on Trump? Even when he was no longer in office. So which side is insane?
