Government has a big role in our current healthcare system.

@adamrisch the government, especially the federal government has a lot of influence on our current healthcare system. It is a reason why we have so many issues. We don't have a highly free market system, we have a for profit system with many government regulations. A give one is the payroll tax which is one big reason why there is employer based healthcare insurance. It is why when you see a doctor for elective care they can't tell you upfront how much it will cost, they need to talk to your insurance company first. Now you may say M4A will alleviate waste, but consider the waste government does daily. Katie Porter never points that out. She shows one side of the story and that's it, not the other side. Government produces a lot of waste constantly.

@beetlebob4675 if you get M4A we are not going back. Look at all the government programs that exist that are a mess that are not going away. So if we get M4A and it is a mess it is what we will be stuck with.

@plumlogan there will be millions of customers. That is the problems. So if a healthcare provider raises prices will M4A refuse to pay? They can't as the people, the actual customers, will be pissed. What you create is more demand but no increase in supply. We see that now with all these covid stimulus checks being given away to people who were told not to work. That is why inflation is so high.

There would either be long wait times or lower quality of care. And many won't be able to see their doctors.

@quinndawsonosgood5261 you can't have all three. As of now Medicare has more administration cost compared to private insurance. As for better outcomes, right now the US has the best outcomes in advanced care. So it depends on what section you want better outcomes.

@SpoopySquid well, what are your sources? To me seeing constant failures from federal government programs and having them pile up is enough for me to know M4A won't work in the US.

There is a ton of paper work with doctors because they keep profiles on their patients. It is how they track them and give them the best care possible. How will Medicare for all remove the paperwork?

Covid showed how M4A will fail. A lot of money was pumped in to healthcare to handle covid and as a result healthcare providers favored them over other patients. And saying other nations do it is flawed. They face many issues themselves along with facing many variables.

She was essentially lying.
