Several problems here. One, MMT is not a theory in economics. Next, the economy did not go under because of some cracks in it. It fell apart because governors shut it down. That is why so many states that are opening up are seeing economic booms. The economy was doing great prior to covid and an artificial shut down caused it to fail. Finally, deficit spending is just kicking the can down the road. It does not solve anything long term.
