So you are going to take a novel vaccine for a virus you have an over 99% chance of surviving from?
4
Verb Noun true. The fear of this virus for some has gone way too far. At this point it seems people are afraid of death to the point they refuse to live life.
4
What degree does Mike have? I have a degree in a science field. I am not taking the vaccine as I find it unnecessary with the position I am in. Also, Mike wants the pandemic to be over. You make it over by just going back to normal. If Mike wants to see his family he should just do it.
4
Young people essentially have a zero percent chance to dying from the virus. Why take a vaccine that is new for a virus that chances are one has no symptoms?
3
@ricardobarahona3939 younger people basically a zero percent chance of dying from the virus. As is the vast majority have an over 99% chance of survival. This virus is not that dangerous.
2
It is debatable if that should be allowed.
2
Your situation is one, it is not the norm. The vast majority have mild to no symptoms and are fine. So either your cousin was not healthy is or the extreme rare situation.
2
@star06able back what up? An article entitled "Probability of symptoms and critical disease after SARS-CoV-2 infection" Said "73.9% of all infected individuals aged less than 60 years did not develop symptoms (95% confidence interval: 71.8-75.9%)."
2
How about Mike's? It goes both ways.
1
Then it is not a vaccine.
1
@littlelarry2912 a vaccine gives your body the ability to fight the virus to where you destroy it and you are no longer a carrier. If it does not than it is not a vaccine.
1
How many young people have died from this virus?
1
@sweetleaf9668 people die all the time. That's life. It comes down to a balance. How many kid's lives were ruined because they could not attend school? You need to factor that in.
1
@sweetleaf9668 I am on point. Other factors are at play. Focusing on just one issue, the virus while ignoring others is completely anti science.
1
@Disgruntled_Fork thanks.
1
@LittleAl016 oh scary, the new strains. Let us extend this for 2 more weeks.
1
It does help though. Most who die of covid were obese.
1
Cancer is different than a virus.
1
Verb Noun with surfaces it has been known since last spring that you can't contract it on surfaces. There was a study out on that but the CDC only recently brought it up. We have known about this virus for a year now that it is not dangerous to the point we should be doing what we did. That is why the goal posts keep moving.
1
@BardaLiefson deaths are overstated. Deaths via diabetes, drug overdose, etc. are up as well. One reason is because healthcare facilities were shut down and people could not receive help they needed. But hey, at least they did not die of covid if you want to see that as a success.
1
@BardaLiefson people die all the time and have life long problems for many reasons. If you are scared you stay home. Let others live life.
1
What surge?
1
@emilianorosales235 in the US cases are down. Maybe if those other nations did not lock down they would be fine. Cases are down in states that had the lowest restrictions.
1
@Velvetx4cove FL and TX have very populated cities. So your point on population density is not true. Due you live in a cave?
1
@emilianorosales235 how can a state like TX with a low vaccine rate have low cases? Your ignorance and lack of knowledge is telling.
1
@emilianorosales235 oh, so now it is warm weather? Fact is you guys want to keep this going as long as possible. You do not want to get back to normal. You will make one excuse after another. You are desperate at this point. You want to know something? India has a very warm climate in their cities of high population. Look at cities like Bangalore and Nagpur, lots of people and a warm climate. So now what is it? Is it the vaccine or the warm weather?
1
@alex-qd6of uh, so now we have to hide another year........I mean 2 weeks for the mutants. This will never end.
1
@emilianorosales235 we had large gatherings in the US. In case you did not notice but in TX they allowed full stadiums for baseball games. Not surge. Also, science does not prove anything. But again, you are contradicting yourself some more. So in TX they have large gatherings and warm weather and still no surge. So what is your excuse now to keep this insanity going?
1
So is Mike admitting that when vaccinated you do not spread the virus? So why wear a mask when vaccinated?
1
@littlelarry2912 with no symptoms so they hardly spread the virus. That is why the CDC said kids could go back to schools until the teacher unions said no.
1
@christopheranderson6931 statistically it is. How many young people died of this virus? Essentially zero. Anyone who has are outliers. So in statistics that is zero. "Also, young people have been proven to be some of the biggest carriers of the virus due to the their tendency to spend more time traveling and interacting with other people during the pandemic. " Not true. "The virus also has many long-term side effects which can be devastating and do impact younger people as much as older people." Which, again, is very rare and not worth drastically changing our society over.
1
@baqcasanke that is one way how it works. Covid is here to stay and it is not that dangerous as we see now. People need to stop freaking out over it.
1
@therideneverends1697 I do, I am getting my PhD in physical chemistry and my MBA
1
@therideneverends1697 it is a science field and I can understand other fields of science. I can also understand numbers as well. I have read this a lot about this virus and it is not that dangerous.
