True. With this vaccine how come so many on the left are not questioning the profit motive here? The left have ripped on profit motives for years, but now are quick to take this vaccine that has not been tested long term and is showing to wear off after a few months.

And during the Trump years it became worse. Case in point, Jan. 6. Instead of trying to understand why so many voted for Trump and why those individuals were mad to the point they stormed the capital, they were dismissed. How about you try to understand someone as opposed to either forcing your way of life on them or dismissing them.

@hollyyork1164 you say based on facts. Facts exist on both sides. Also, how you interpret the facts and go from there can differ. You can give two people the same set of facts and they can both come up with legit, but different conclusions. It isn't about wanting you to leave the country. It is that fact this nation was designed for smaller, more local government and for the people to govern themselves. For example, when Mayor deBlasio complains about the new TX abortion law, that pisses people off. deBlasio is the mayor of NYC. He has nothing to do with TX. He should focus on his city and not worry about TX and leave the people of TX alone. But he insists the state, and thus the people living there are in the wrong. That is a common theme with leftists.

@hollyyork1164 facts are open for interpretation. For example, take covid. When the media was saying cases went up 200% that number may seem large. But here, what is larger, 200% of 2, or 10% of 1,000,000,000? So yes, facts can be open for interpretation.

While factually that can be true, it does not mean covid cases are high because you have to think 200% of what? More details are needed. 200% of a small number is a small number. Where 10% of a large number is a large number. That is why in the media and with politicians they will say something factually correct, but it will be presented in a deceptive way. Giving facts while omitting details is being deceptive. That is why Is say you can give two people, even two experts the same set of facts and can get two legit, but different conclusions.

@zammmerjammer we don't know. That is why many vaccines took years of studying before approval. And if the vaccine leaves the body in 3 days, does that mean after 3 days you are no longer vaccinated? And yes, the vaccine wears off in months. Natural immunity protected against the variants. Many vaccines protect against variants as well. Consider small pox how cow pox was the starting point for a vaccine.

@LittleAl016 not true. For example, 40% of covid related deaths were nursing home patients. According to a UCSF report from a few years ago, 50% of new nursing home patients die in 6 months and their average lifespan is a year. Point being, they are people who are near death to begin with. So you can't say if covid killed them or it was just because of simply being old. I love how leftists say "follow the science" and do the most anti science thing of just factoring in only one variable when someone dies. In this case, covid. Someone dies with covid and the left claim that it was only because of covid and nothing else. That is anti science.

A UCSF report from a few years ago, prior to covid, stated that 50% of new nursing home patients die in 6 months, and the average lifespan of them is a year. These are people are high risk of death to begin with. Graph covid deaths as as function of age, graph death probability as a function of age, and graph death rate as a function of age. What do you get? The same shaped graph. Old people dying is not a pandemic, it is life. Please, learn how to interpret data.

@KL-lt8rc 1. There are biological aspect to gender. For example, look at Bateman's Principle. Men and women act differently for various biological reasons. So no, it is not largely a social convention. Women have way more freedom then they did a century ago. But yet still more women become elementary school teachers. Why? Because of the natural tendency for them to have that mother instinct. 2. On natural immunity, it is stronger and last longer compared to the vaccine. So two points. One, if you have already been infected prior to the vaccine, why get vaccinated? Two, the issue we need to focus on now is that if you were vaccinated and became infected and can still develop natural immunity that is great. No more shots, no booster shots. We are no in the clear and we need to stop all covid protocols and move on. The fact that is not being discussed is a huge red flag that all these covid protocols have nothing to do with public health. 3. Look up the "Lets go Brandon" meme. Funny how people at sporting events, which were meant to be apolitical, are ripping on Biden in that way. The most popular president ever I guess.

@KL-lt8rc 1. What social issues push women to become elementary school teachers? Women can become engineers now, managers, CEOs, etc. They can enter the STEM fields or get MBAs. But still more women than men become elementary school teachers. Also, compared women sports to men. During a men's game such as baseball, when a player strikes out he heads back to the dugout and no one talks to him. In Women's Softball when a player strikes out they all pat her on the back, support her, etc. That is, again, a difference in biology. We do know that biology plays a role. Again, look up Bateman's principle. 2. Mild cases of covid still provide immunity. That is why reinfection is very rate, as in way less than 1%. 3. Still doesn't dismiss the fact that there are people in stadiums ripping on Biden. So much for a president that supposedly received over 80 million votes

Again, women have a ton of freedom today, but still more woman compared to men gravitate towards being an elementary teacher. Same in that more men gravitate to being engineers and physicists. That despite being so many scholarships for women in STEM being available. 2. Nope, infection provides strong immunity. Until I see a study that suggests otherwise I will stand by that statement. And I have read many studies. 3. What other president had people at sporting events chanting like that? Look at youtube likes dislikes that talk about Biden. So many dislikes. People do not like him. If you really think he receive over 80 million votes when the prior to 2020 no one received over 70 million votes, with the most being Obama in 2008 over 69 millions, you are a fool.

Many women are being praised in the STEM field but yet men still dominate in the physical sciences. 2. The CDC study they referenced only looked at patients who were vaccinated for 2 months. It did not look at the long term effects where it is clear that over months the vaccine wears off where natural immunity lasts. Also, the infection rate in that early stage for vaccinated was around 0.02% where for those who were infected was around 0.04%, still small. So yes, I read the study. I suggest you do the same. 3. So the "pandemic" led to a record amount of people coming out to vote? That makes no sense. How was Trump the least popular president on record? Prior to 2020 no candidate received over 70 million votes. The most was Obama in 2008. Now not only did we have two receive over 70 million, but one received over 80 million? That makes zero sense. And even if Trump lost "fair and square", is Biden really that good of a president? Look at the state of our nation. Nearly 6% inflation, highest it has been since 2007. A divided nation, our supply chain is a mess, Biden can hardly speak. For me, in 2020 it wasn't about who won or lost that irritates me and others. It was how the process was complete changes in that election and how so many in the media were ripping on Trump but praising Biden even though Biden is way worse. Imagine if under Trump our inflation was over 5%, or if Trump said we needed a woman of color to be VP, or if Trump has to be given a script on who to call in press conferences. etc. The media will blow up. But with Biden doing it nothing happens.

You are so concerned about kids dying. More kids die in traffic accidents a year compared to covid. You can prevent that by keeping kids away from roads. Why not do that? The point is that you are willing to accept some level of child deaths so kids can be near roads to walk on them, ride a bike, ride in cars or busses, etc. In which in that case when we allow that over 3000 kids die a year in traffic accidents. So why do you want kids to die in traffic accidents we can avoid by preventing kids from being near roads?

When I am seeing signs about "mask on move on" I get do get mad. Move on how? Wearing a mask for the rest of my life? That has been an issue prior to covid. We just never focused on it until now. Really, you guys are fools. You never think for yourself. There is a point here. Leftists were complaining about big pharma for years and the profit motives they have. But then are so quick to take this novel vaccine from them without knowing how efficient they are, especially long term. @Roa except the vast majority have mild to no symptoms. If covid was really that dangerous people would be dropping dead in the street in front of your eyes. They aren't. I am living in a place where people are living normally and people are fine. If covid was that dangerous we would be hearing people coughing all over the place and people dropping dead. Instead restaurants are full, people are enjoying life, things are fine.

When Delta came many European nations and the US saw a surge. Sweden has a vaccination rate comparable to the US. They saw no surge. Why? They have herd immunity.

We do know that T and B memory cells do work long term based on other viruses such as SARS-1. So there is that. How many vaccines do we need 3 shots for in less than a year? There is also the question on how dangerous covid really is? With kids, for example, the death rate of kids is essentially zero. So why push to get them vaccinate? There appears to be a profit motive at that point. Same with those with natural immunity. If you were infected why get vaccinated? As for people being knowledgeable and someone being an expert, those people are still human. The scientist in Japan during WWII were experts and look at what evil they did. When nuclear energy was discovered via the splitting of the atom we could have either used it to power the world or create bombs. What did scientists go towards first? So there is that.

Fact is covid is not that dangerous. If it was we would not have to be told about it on a daily basis. At this point the vaccine is simply a scam for big pharma to make money and for the Biden team to distract from their failures. There is a reason why two FDA members stepped down after the push for the booster. They said it has become too political. 3. It does matter. The elderly are at high risk of death to begin with overall. That is life. Read the book "Being Mortal" where the author there discusses healthcare challenges about those near the end of life. Fact is that we can spend numerous resources trying to keep old people alive as much as possible, but at what cost? In this case with covid, it came at the cost of a terrible economy, kids losing a year of education. Many younger people facing mental challenges. What we did with covid was a complete failure. We are trying to protect grandma from a virus when they were going to die anyways and in doing so ruined the lives of 10s of millions of people who have decades of potential life ahead of them. Statistically speaking, almost all who died with covid would have been dead in the same timeframe to begin with. So what we did was a failure. What we did was similar to sending people in burning building to try to save someone who was never going to be saved. So not only did that person died, the lives of those entering the building were ruined as well. You bring up a disease that kills kids. That is different. Kids have decades of lives ahead of them. Someone who is old does not. We can spend a ton of resources to keep someone alive for 3 more months, but at that point, was it worth it? If you cannot accept that people die, you are going to live a very difficult life. 4. Profit is not bad. What is wrong is when the government is funding these programs. Right now the government is funding these vaccines thus people are getting them left and right without caring about the cost. Now there is talk of the booster. When the consumer is not paying this is what happens. What we are seeing with this vaccine is corruption 101. The government is paying for it and thus the consumer does not care. It is similar to the student loan situation. Someone pulls out a student loan thus they are not seeing the direct cost of college as they are not paying, thus college tuition goes up and thus high loans. With this vaccine it is just costing the government more leading to a higher budget and part of the reason why inflation is so high and our economy is bad. Profit motive is not bad in a free market. It become bad when government becomes heavily involved 5. On a consent form and ICU, you can't do that. How far do you want to go with that? During the lockdowns I became a huge alcoholic. I had to go to the ER. Should the hospital just kick be out denying care because I, by my own personal choice, drank a lot and took up an ER bed? Same on if a criminal has a shootout with police, gets shot and ends up getting care at the hospital. Should the doctors say no because he was a criminal? That is the problem in what you are saying. You are saying punish this group of people for their own personal choices for whatever reason it may be, but still cater to these group of people for their own personal choices. How about obesity? Obese people make up a disproportional amount of hospitalizations to begin with. Why not deny them care? How far do you want to go with this? 6. My last point is legit in that right now the CDC and Fauci are just arms of the government. They have been all over the place and many scientists have spoken up against them and have been silence. Funny how you said the scientists in Japan and those creating the bomb were doing work for the government. So what about Fauci and the CDC? They are doing work for the government. Here is the reality. I have a PhD in physical chemistry. I have read many papers on covid. Covid is not that dangerous. The best cure against this pandemic is to stop talking about it. I currently live in an area where there are no mask mandates, no talks of covid, no push for the vaccine. People are living normally. And no one is dropping like flies. If this virus was so dangerous we would not have to be reminded about it on a daily basis, we would see it. I suggest you go to an area of the nation that does not talk about covid and are living life normally for a couple of months. You will see things are fine. At this point I really feel that those freaking out about covid felt that death never happened prior to covid.

Go to a town of around 10,000 in Missouri or Nebraska or Kansas. I bet you will see no covid protocols and you will also see no one dying on the streets nor overfilled hospitals. Leftists like Mike pushing vaccine mandates is common on the left when they say to others that "you do not know what is best for you". That is a big reason why Trump won. Too many on the left are telling people that "you are voting against your own best interest" or basically saying that people like me are too dumb to think for myself and need to be forced to live a certain life. Many put thought into this and simply do not want to take the vaccine. Many intelligent people have done that. But the left feel that anyone that disagrees with them are stupid and need to be forced to get on the "correct path".
