  9.  @knavishknight  easy example. When I was arrested for a DUI the cop said he was arresting me on suspicion of driving while intoxicated. I asked him what can I do and all he said was get a lawyer and talk to the prosecuting attorney. He could not go beyond that because if he gives me bad legal advice as if he fully knows the law I can use that against him and ultimately the county (it was a deputy). People have their role. The cops in these cases show up saying they have a warrant for these individuals arrest where the warrant said it was for voter fraud. Beyond that they can't say anything because that is not their position. That is the position of the prosecuting attorney. Back to my DUI. The prosecuting attorney told me the law and gave me an offer, and SIS, Suspension Imposition of Sentence. I talked to a lawyer and he said that is a good deal. The lawyer also said, for a certain amount, they could get me off completely due to many factors. I saved my money and took the SIS. If the cop would have said that I would receive and SIS, and the prosecuting attorney said there would be no SIS offered to me, now I have a strong case against the county (again, sheriff deputy) where I was lied to by a member serving the county. That I went into the situation thinking I will get an SIS, so I did not hire a lawyer right away. But when the PA did not give me that offer I can easily argue I was giving misinformation and that is an easy case to win causing major damage to the county and the sheriff in that county. See, easy to give an example. Helps when you actually read a lot and also leave one's home and gain real world experience.
