@YouAreStillNotablaze it was happening. That and CRT were seen by parents when kids were told to freak out over a virus they essentially had a zero percent chance of dying from and be home schooled. Parents had a chance to see what was being taught to their kids. Even at that, what was wrong with the bill? Do you want teachers discussing sex with a 2nd grader?

@FrozEnbyWolf150 how do you describe sexual orientation without talking about sex? That is the issue. Here is the scenario that would play out. Little Timmy goes up to a teacher and ask what being gay means. The teacher would have to say that means a boy is sexually attractive to another boy. Now little Timmy is asking what it means to be sexually attractive. Down the rabbit hole we go. CRT is being taught in public schools. Even if not, being taught at universities is wrong. Saying black people are not doing well because white man bad is factually incorrect.

@oddjam I can answer that. Why other parts of the nation were pushing for lockdowns, masks, keeping kids out of schools, etc. Desantis allowed the people of FL to be free to do what they want. And they were around the middle in covid deaths per capita despite having one of the oldest population in the US.

@YouAreStillNotablaze the very fact that people were calling the bill "don't say gay" shows how dumb people are. Nowhere in the bill did it say the word gay. The point was that there are ages where you do not discuss certain things to kids. One is sexuality to those in elementary school.

@YouAreStillNotablaze remember the South Park episode where Mr. Garrison brought in Mr. Slave and they started doing sexual acts in front of the kids, and started talking about it? That is what the whole bill was meant to prevent. It had nothing to do about people having pictures of their spouse on their desks or getting rid of gay people.

@katelynelms3062 it goes beyond "love". I love many men in my life, but I am not gay. Why? Because I am not sexually attractive to them. That is the point. I can love a man but I will, in no way be sexually attractive to them. The far left seems to not understand that. What it leads to is a 2nd grader, who is a boy, loves their best friend, who is also a boy. So by your standard they will feel they are gay whey they are not. That is a problem.

@223Drone no, I said I WAS a TA, I graduated now. Now I have my PhD. Getting the renewable energy certificate required me to take 4 online courses which I did on the side. It was a fun hobby for me that ended up me getting a certificate. Seriously, if you are going to attack me at least know about me.

@cptmiller132 I know how per capita works, it is to adjust for population differences. Alaska has a low population and is 46th in death per capita. Explain that.

FL has a pretty high population density along with one of the oldest population in the US. Do you know how that works? Vermont has a small population, so why don't they have a high death per capita? What is their population density? 67.9 person/square mile. Much higher than Alaska. Explain that.
