Mike is lying again in this video. One, in terms of percent of GDP our defense spending has been dropping since the 70s. Next, you can't directly compare our spending to other nations. When you add up the GDP of those nations Mike points to their combine GDP is similar to our GDP. So of course we spend that much compared to nations with much smaller GDPs.

Defense is an actual role of the federal government. Situations like education, environmental, healthcare, etc. are not a part of the federal government's responsibility but instead should be left up to the states.

The federal government is there for two things, deal with foreign affairs and commerce between states. Rest of the issues are left up to the states such as education, most of transportation, law enforcement, etc. And even at that all governments have to work within the constitution. That means even with the federal government running the military it can't use it to enforce domestic laws. The whole point was to limit government.

Nancy is worth as much as she is because of her husband. But it does beg the question on how do so many of our politicians become so rich on really a salary that is not that large in the big picture? And why couldn't Bernie just donated his book for people to read for free instead of earning millions selling it in Walmart and Amazon?

@kyrstensinemahatespoorpeop9666 by definition he inherited wealth. And it is a nice cabin by the lake. Many would love to own it as a getaway spot. My parents bought 11 acres of land and built a small cabin on it for just that reason. Not to live but to getaway. His cabin is worth around $600,000. And it isn't about the "free" argument. Bernie spent years complaining about how bad Walmart and Amazon are, but then sells his books in those same stores. And he spent years complaining about millionaires, but when he becomes one he stops. In fact, in an interview someone criticized him on that. His response was that others can sell best selling books and become a millionaire. By that logic anyone can start an online store or a car company and become as rich as Bezos and Musk. Or those people sleeping on the streets can write a best selling book and get off the street.

When criticized for doing just that his claim is that anyone can write a best selling book. So why can't the poor and min. wage worker do it?

It actually confused the Federal Reserve because when the economy does that well inflation goes up at times meaning higher interest rates are needed. It wasn't as worker participation was up meaning more productivity. So despite wages going up prices were not. The only jobs lost under Trump were really those in 2020 because of the democrats locking down the nation. And you say the stock market is not the economy, it is high right now despite inflation being high, unemployment and job growth being high. Our supply chain is a mess, etc.

Based on many objective measures almost al who would have died with covid would have been dead in the same timeframe to begin with. That is based on survival probability, a stat used in Social Security, death rate as a function of age, based on 40% of covid deaths were nursing home patients and previous reports from UCSF has them having a high death rate to begin with, etc. Old people dying is not a pandemic, it is the norm. What is bad is that the lockdowns led to a huge spike in overdose deaths, or kids falling behind in their education, and businesses being shut down, etc.

According to a UCSF report from a few years ago 50% of new nursing home patients die in 6 months and their average lifespan is a year . Again, people at high risk of death to begin with. It is going on 2 years now. Statistically, almost all of those 40% would be dead anyways in this timeframe. So no, it is not that deadly. Stop throwing out numbers without context.

Shutting down which ruined lives of millions of younger people just to see an old person die with a disease when they were going to die anyways is not a success. That like running into a burning building to save a person in it when they had no chance to be saved anyways. Now two people are dead. You told me how many covid related deaths there were a day, not deaths in general. AT this point it appears death was never happening to you prior to covid.

@kyrstensinemahatespoorpeop9666 never said the vaccine was dangerous. I said there is a risk and reward. If you were infected with covid you have natural immunity, thus taking the risk on a novel vaccine is not really the best. But I have encouraged many people to get vaccinated.

Papers in Science, BMJ, Nature, Cell, and other highly impactful peer reviewed journals have articles on that. And my point was that prior to the vaccine many were infected, so why should they get vaccinated? Not saying now they should get infected, but that prior to the vaccine many did. Also, natural infection is much stronger and last longer. Maybe people want to take that route as opposed to multiple boosters a year for the rest of their life. As for the pain of covid, a Cornell study showed that up to 80% of those infected has mild to no symptoms. So for most they will be no pain.

Based on what. More kids die in traffic accidents a year compared to covid. And no, there were not 800,000 excess deaths in that time frame. Were there excess deaths? Some, but not that high. In that same timeframe deaths from overdoses spiked, so did deaths from cancer due to lack of cancer screening. Deaths from heart disease spike due to lack of people seeking healthcare. Do you know how to read stats? Back to preventative and safety measures. Almost all who would have died with covid would have been dead in the same timeframe to begin with. That is based on many objective measures. What we have done is shut down the economy ruining people's lives, shut down schools ruining education, especially for those at risk, shut down many activities ruining people's lives and for what? To watch people die with covid who were going to die anyways. Compare it to driving. 40,000 die a year in traffic accidents. Banning driving will stop that. Why don't we do that? Because the outcomes would be worse. Covid was never that deadly to justify what we have did.

Problem is that too many people like you focus only on covid, nothing else, as a variable. There are many other factors at play.

@kyrstensinemahatespoorpeop9666 again, you are one person. The vast majority in your situation are fine. The studies say so as well. Remember, follow the science. Want to know my experience? The lockdowns really has my drinking shoot up very high where I had to go to detox twice spending a ton of money on that. During that time I met many people who were depressed because of the lockdowns leading to substance abuse. I had a student who was like that where in her first semester she was depressed because of the fact the campus was mainly closed. Going to the ER before going to detox a second time the EMTs said they were seeing a spike in cases like me. The fact is I have spent all this time hearing how awful covid was but zero talks about how dangerous the lockdowns were, and how substance abuse was going up along with depression and use of SSRIs was awful. Why ignore those people and only focus on covid? That is why so many, like me, blew it off as soon as we could. The second businesses were opening up people like me went out and had fun. Still do now. If you are scared you stay home. My experience, along with others, is that the covid restrictions were worse.

What do you say to me where my life was almost ruined as the lockdowns stripped me of many things I enjoy doing? How I was told I can't work in lab, teach my students in person, do activities for the community I love, but the liquor store down the street was an "essential business"? Explain that bud. And are you going to pay for the nearly $10,000 in debt I accrued from my medical bills going to detox twice? This goes both ways bud.

@patriotforhumanity7174 the answer to our problems is to limit the powers of all governments, especially the federal. Trump was doing just that and it was working. That is why so many of the establishments were freaking out, including Bernie. It was showing the people we don't need a large centralized government to play mommy and daddy to us but we can make it on our own in our own community. It freaked out corrupt, career politicians like Bernie. What else will Bernie run of if people are making it strong simply by help and work via their local community and not a centralized government? Also, people do not care about millionaires and billionaires. Just because they are rich does not mean you are poor. If you include stocks award and other benefits on top the $1.5 million the CEO for the company I work for make, he makes around $26.5 million a year. Guess what? I am fine with my job, how it pays, the amazing benefits, etc. You are so worried about a few rich people when you should be worrying about yourself. That is how Trump supporters felt and that was the nation Trump was giving people. Get the federal government out of your life as much as possible, tell the liberal elites, and elites in general to shut up, and the common American was doing well.

@TheHuxleyAgnostic there is not 800,000 excess deaths. In 2019 there were 2.8 million deaths in the US. In 2020 it was 3.3 million, an increase of around 18%. In terms of "excess" by previous years it was around 300,000. Is that all for covid? No. Overdose deaths increased by 28.5%. Cancer deaths increased by 17%. Fact is other forms of deaths increased a significant amount. You just tying this to covid is completely foolish. Cancer deaths went up as screenings went down because covid patients took priority to cancer patients. Substance abuse deaths went up because depression and mental illness went up. A University of Texas psychiatrist said that for in the first time in 35 years he saw a shortage of SSRIs. And how many died with covid because of a weaker immune system from depression and not going to the gym? You need to factor that in. And you say suicide dropped in 2020, that is not true. It went up as well. As for your mortality situation compared to driving. Covid mortality is less than a percent. Now factor in other causes. How many of those traffic accidents were in cities or towns with people driving slower and younger people driving foolish? Compared that to covid deaths of someone in their 90s, with multiple health issues. They died because they were old and sick. Not because of covid. Again, and I gave you the numbers, I can do it again, based on many objective measures almost all who died with covid would have been dead in the same timeframe. Masks and lockdowns do not work. There was no correlation between them and covid cases and deaths. FL has been open for months. Despite having the 2nd oldest population, they are 9th in deaths per capita. Based on what you are saying if this was an actual pandemic deaths would be massive in FL for being so open and not wearing masks. Go ahead and support tight restrictions. A lot of the nation is fully open and going about lives. If this was an actual pandemic deaths in those part of the nation would be massive. Please learn science bud. With everything there is always more than one variable.

A UCSF report a few years ago stated that 50% of new nursing home patients die within 6 months and the average life expectancy of them is a year. If you were to graph death rate as a function of age you will see that one, around 80% of deaths in the US are 65 and older. Around 80% of covid deaths are 65 and older. Also, if you graph death rate by a function of age, survival probability as a function of age, and covid deaths as a function of age, all three graphs have the same exponential shape. Now add in how 94% of covid deaths had comorbidities, the average age of a covid death is in the 80s. It is clear this is not a pandemic.

It is easy for him to push for certain policies and then going to his vacation home in Vermont and enjoying his millions. Bernie is what he is, a career politician. And overall, he still does not earn near as much as me. Why? Well, I have a PhD, I have many published papers, I have done a lot of work. Or maybe it is because I am greedy and my dad was at a disadvantage. Make up your mind. That is the point. Bernie needs to make up his mind. So do you. "Sanders reported paying a 26% effective tax rate on his adjusted gross income. The couple reported donating $18,950 to charity." Low charity donation and a low tax rate. "Sanders reported a total 2018 family income of $566,421" I make 1/6 of that much and pay a similar rate. Please, explain that. At this point I find it funny you guys keep defending this millionaire who has done nothing in his life that was productive.

@TheHuxleyAgnostic "Florida has over double the covid deaths of Canada" FL is 9th in the US in deaths per capita with New York and New Jersey ahead of them despite FL having an older population. But please, keep showing you know nothing about stats and how you want this "pandemic" to keep going. Really, please, be honest. What do you have to gain by keep pushing this "pandemic?

@TheHuxleyAgnostic hard to compare to other nations as they report deaths differently. As for that Harvard paper, their work was not misrepresented. They stated that comparing to nations and counties vaccination rate did not influence infection rates. They came out saying it was misrepresented saying that people who opposed the vaccines misrepresented saying that not only do we need to vaccinated but keep wearing masks, keeping distant, etc. So what is the point of the vaccine if we just keeping doing these protocols? Is there no chance of going back to normal? So you are now admitting that even with a vaccine there is not return to being normal? No dropping mask mandates? No pushing for lockdowns? So what is the point of the vaccine? Thanks for admitting you want the "pandemic" to keep going.

@Walter Mennekens easy. One, Mike said defense spending has been increasing for decades. All spending has. As percent of GDP though, defense spending has been dropping for around 50 years. Mike said we spend more on defense than X amount of nations combine. You want to know what else we spend more on than a lot of those nations combine? Education. Why? Our GDP is as large as those nations combine. So no crap we spend more than those nations combine. We also spend more on R&D than a lot of them combine. Mike is just throwing out numbers with zero context.

@ellec7276 in a video earlier this week he did. He called Rittenhouse a white supremacist. My point is that Mike has a long history of being deceptive and flat out lying. I did it focusing on this video itself in how he was deceptive in the numbers he presented. Again, yes, we spend more on defense than a certain amount of nations combine. We also spend more on education than many of those same nations combine. So by Mike's logic we need to cut education spending.

@ellec7276 no, my point is to show the history of Mike as being a liar. I can give more examples. But I can stick to this video which I did with my next comment. I don't hate watch him. I am pointing out to the far left how completely wrong they are and how they are dividing us as a nation. Mike said in this video if the media were to give out proper information people would know the problem of raising the budget expense. However, I pointed out the truth in how defense spending has been dropping for around 50 years. So why doesn't Mike follow his own advice? Because he Mike is divisive.
