  8.  @amateuroverlord8007  what she was saying that, as in N. Korea, people are being taught what to think, not how to think. That is a problem. But what makes it worse is that in the US we have access to a ton of information and still decide to remain ignorant. Look at the covid response. The second the media and many of our leaders and people in power told us there is a scary virus and we must shut down and hide in fear, people did without question. People were not questioning things on why a gym is closed but a liquor store is opened. And when someone did many said "follow the science" and "listen to the experts" as if "experts" cannot be wrong and also cannot lack morals. There is a long history of scientists doing awful things. Consider the scientists in Japan during WWII and the awful things they did. You talk about execution, it doesn't have to be simply killing. Many universities will simply fail students or kick them out if you disagree. I disagreed with things and people threatened to kick me out. During covid I spoke up and made the comment on dumb we are acting. As the example I gave with the Floyd incident and racism. How a week later the university claimed they were "addressing racism on campus" and apparently were able to come up with a plan in a week. But when it came to covid and reopening they were all over the place. No standard in masks. They said every lab will be provided with cleaning supplies, they were not. We were told to sign a daily form, then told not to, then told to, etc. They were all over the place and had 3 months to figure it out. I pointed that out how it is amazing a group of doctorates cannot figure something out in three months but apparently can solve racism in a week. The school threatened to kick me out. My advisor, who is one of the few who support me, found a way to keep me. But what is clear is those in admin and professors do not want to be challenged. If you do they will simply "execute" you by kicking you out and ruining your career. As for you it is clear you are a leftist and you felt right at home at a university. I am getting my PhD and I am looking to get out of it. The people there are insane. To me I see a lot of why they chose academics, a life of where you get tenure and stop working. If they worked in the private sector they will be fired for not being productive. "If you work in academia where presumably the most philosophically minded people gravitate to, and your personal politics are out of line with all or most of your peers, maybe you need to do some self reflecting?" That is the issue, the most philosophically minded people do not gravitate there. For many they are people who are very intelligent at one thing and ignorant elsewhere. Politics aside, the amount of stupidity I have seen was amazing. I have colleagues who do not chain up gas cylinders that, if they fell, can literally go through brick walls. But they get all pissed off if you did not wear a mask. I had colleagues who walked into our machine shop while someone was behind a barrier welding and walked towards that person with no proper eyewear. I have seen people run a vacuum pump with no oil and wonder why it locks up. The list goes one. For being so "philosophically" minded the fact they run a pump with no oil, it locks up and they cannot think why says something. The fact is these people are insane. They are not philosophers. The worse is when they do not care about the students. You can say I am an outcast at my university but the reality is I feel you experience at your university was the way it was because it was you left wing paradise.

  15.  @amateuroverlord8007  your comment now supports what I am saying in that you are a leftist and you being on a university was your bubble. After the Floyd tape I admitted it looked awful, but I was able to control my emotions, step back and say we need all the facts before we jump to conclusion. After year of BLM being wrong on so many instances I know better. And when more facts came out it was clear it was not as bad as it first seemed. Cops were trying to help Floyd. There were three other black individuals with him, none were harm. Floyd was saying he could not breath while standing up. When he was going into the patrol car he was saying he could not breath and the cop said they would roll the window down. He asked if he can lay on the ground so the cops let him do it while waiting for medical help. The cops could have just shoved him in the patrol car and drove off, but there was clear signs of trying to help him. Also, if you read my comments I admitted that if the knee on the neck was typical police action that is something to look into to reform police. I also fully support punishing bad cops. You saying "People “waiting for the facts” in the George Floyd situation were waiting for a suitable excuse for the officers" Also proves my point. It isn't waiting for a suitable excuse for the officers. I want bad cops to be punished. But we need an investigation. The fact is that you, like many in academics, have a firmly held, religious like belief on issues and you will do anything to confirm that. After an investigation and trial a conclusion was made. Do I agree with it? Not fully because I did not agree with the city giving millions to Floyd's family before a trial was done. I did not agree with Maxine Waters telling people to get more confrontational if there is a not guilty verdict. I did not agree with the 2nd degree murder conviction as I said all the time that, at worse, it was manslaughter based on the definition. But in the end I stepped back and waited for the whole thing to play out. You jumping to a conclusion immediately is proving my point. You have a religious like belief. You felt great at a university because that was your church.

  18.  @amateuroverlord8007  I never said "people with no expertise". I am talking about people who do not understand the basic facts before the get to opinions. Here you are twisting my words to justify your belief, you are proving my point again. How did he commit 2nd degree murder? Look up the definition and tell me how? " Also you “stepped back and waited for the whole thing to play out.” How is that any different from what anyone else did?" There were riots, my university immediately make the conclusion of there being racism in our society. People immediately declared Derek was in the wrong where I said we need to do a full investigation. Again, more video showed the cops did not have the intention to harm Floyd, let alone kill. Floyd was complaining about not being able to breath from the beginning. They tried to help him. At that point the whole knee on the neck thing comes down to two things 1. Is that police protocol? If it is Derek did nothing wrong based on training and we need to review police practice or 2. Derek, at worse, committed 2nd degree murder based on the definition. " You did the same thing, you just came to the complete opposite opinion as everyone else, and that opinion was shown to be wrong objectively in a court of law." No, I did not come up with a conclusion. Again, here is where you are proving my point that you are a religious like belief in something. Read what I wrote. After I saw all the evidence I concluded that 1. If the knee on the neck is typical police protocol then it that should be reviewed or 2. If it is not, then Derek should be tried for possible manslaughter Again, you are proving my point. You are making claims about me that are simply not true because I am challenging your religious like belieft.
