  58.  @Mixinnitup  to start, many college professors are not good teachers as many rather do research. In fact, I encourage people to go out and attend community colleges as those professors want to teach as opposed to professors and grad students in larger institutions who want to focus on research. Next, if you make college free you will have many people just calmly doing college as opposed to looking to be more organized to complete it in an affordable way. So instead of someone failing the same class three times they will push to pass it the first time to same money. Also, money management is very important to employers. Many businesses operate on thin profit margins. You don't want employees who do not know the true value of money. Spending money for a college education helps people learn the value of money. As for a doctor, I gave an example in this thread that there was a healthcare topic that I knew more than my doctor on. One reason is that many universities have archaic curriculum. Take the fact that a lot of medical doctors do not have to take nutrition. Or that a lot of professors have the feeling of "I had to do it this way so you are as well". As in my example, my doctors recommended I go to detox to withdraw from alcohol after months of hardcore drinking (I was drinking 3 fifths of vodka a day for around 6 months). They never told me what I would experience, what going to detox would prevent, what alcohol was doing to my CNS, etc. They had a vague understanding but not specific. Even the ones at the detox center did not know. There are issues with colleges, but as of now they still have value because you have to pay to attend. If you make it free employers will see it as worthless and would look for something else in a potential employee.

  119.  @HaiRune  most government subsidizes cause inflation. Student loans by the government led to tuition going up, but mainly only tuition.. Now with student loan forgiveness you is going to have more inflation all around. Biden is saying that now these former students will have money to buy homes or purchase other goods. But when there is a same amount of goods and services you end up with inflation. Want me to prove what I am saying? First, on student loans and increase in tuition. In 1970 4 year colleges cost, on average, $400 a year. Now it cost around $10,000 a year. That is an increase of 25x. In the 1970s the federal government created the department of education and created the federal student loan program. So there is that. On inflation in general, you are giving those people $10,000 more. Use a very simple example. Say you have 10 people looking to buy a sandwich, but there are only 5 sandwiches. Of the 10 people. 5 have $10 on them and the other 5 have $5 on them. The sandwiches will then cost, at lease, $5.01 pricing the 5 with only $5 on them out of the sandwich market. Now say some government official says everyone should have a sandwich. So they give everyone a penny, or even just those with $5 a penny. Well, on the surface they can buy a sandwich, but there are still only 5 of them. So now the price goes up to $5.02. Say that government official gives those people $3 dollars. Well, the price of the sandwiches will be $8.01 a piece as there are still only 5 of them. Giving away money does not increase the number of goods and services. If it does why don't we just give people a million dollars? We will all be millionaires.
