Several states do that with no problem.

I worked at a school there teachers were allowed to have guns. Been doing it for years with no problems. And there are teachers packing.
2
I live by a school that allows teachers to possess guns. Many do, zero problems.
2
@j0j0dartiste21 so just make teachers and kids at schools be defenseless.
1
@j0j0dartiste21 no shootings.
1
@223Drone rape and murder are an action. A gun is an object. 10s of millions, like me, own a gun and never harmed anyone in our lives.
1
I already know your reaction, but for others it is about the object vs the action. Murder is an action. You make murder illegal because you are making the action of murder illegal. If you make guns illegal you are making the object illegal meaning law abiding citizens cannot own guns, but criminals will.
1
Now go ahead and say I am arguing in bad faith, or whatever pull string doll comment you make.
1
@223Drone murder is illegal, criminals won't follow the law. So if you make guns illegal criminals will still get ahold of them to commit murder. If you keep guns legal a law abiding citizen like me will be allowed to own a gun and not break the law, you know, I will not commit murder with it. Also, it allows me to defend myself against a criminal trying to murder me. I know that is a concept you can't understand. So do this, just don't own a gun and don't have an opinion on this very easy to understand topic that appears to be too complex for you.
1
@223Drone Brazos High School in TX. Go there sometime.
1
Do you have stories of those accidental discharges? I am sure if they were to happen the left would be all over it.
1
@meghnac78 define "common sense laws" . The fact is that the moment there is a debate it is no longer common sense.
1
@meghnac78 you bring up safe storage. How do you enforce it? My guns are not in safes. Should the cops come in my home randomly and check? "In 2017, a parent repeatedly asked the police and local gun stores to not sell a gun to her mentally ill daughter. They did and she killed herself. The background check didn't work here" Did the daughter break any laws? No, so they have a right to own a gun. And you don't need a gun to kill yourself. S. Korea has strict gun laws and a high suicide rate. "Even the Nashville shooter bought all her guns LEGALLY despite having mental health problems. CT, RI, and DC are the only three places which impose a statutory waiting period. Tell me, which of these suggest (even REMOTELY) that gun ownership is being infringed upon? " Mental illness is impossible to fully diagnose. Many people have a mental illness and are not violent. As for a waiting period, that hinders people from getting a gun who need it right away. You can have a case of a woman leaving an abusive husband and is fearing for her life so she buys a gun that day. You see, your ideas are not common sense. There is a debate there.
1
@meghnac78 the daughter did not break any laws, thus they have their right to own a gun. "Why couldn't the police have put her on a mandatory 72 hour hold which might have given professionals the chamce to help her for a longer period of time?" Again, the reason for her wanting a gun is really no one's business. Maybe she had a dangerous ex she broke up with or moved from and she was afraid of him. So she needed a gun now. As for professionals, what professionals? And as for mental health, again, that is impossible to fully diagnose. It isn't like a broken arm. I am all for improving mental health, but it is a tough issue. I had a mental health problem at one point. I had three doctors who evaluated me and all felt I was fine owning my guns. As for suicide, what we don't do is strip them of their rights but instead help them. Even without a gun they can still commit suicide.
1
@meghnac78 how do you know about that daughter? Maybe she was scared of her mom thus her mom did not want her to have a gun so the mom can attack her. I never said let her die. You are making an argument after the fact. Hindsight is 20/20. If she is an adult her mother cannot do anything. Do you, assuming you are an adult, do everything your parents say? If so then that is sad. How do you know she was suicidal? Again, mental health is impossible to fully diagnose. Many claim they are suicidal and never act out. The problem with your standard is that any red flag will lead to people not owning a gun. By your standard my doctors would have banned me from owning a gun because I had a few red flags. We don't run our nation based on the minority report. "By the way, the leading cause of suicide in South Korea is due to pesticide poisoning. They put policies in place regulating the sale and access to pesticides which actually decreased their suicide rates" Was it that or was it because of other reasons? You can kill yourself via hanging, jumping off of a bridge, etc. You do know that suicide rates are dropping globally as a whole? And suicide in S. Korea rose the past couple of years.
1
@Black Star who said I do not have ideas? My point is that the person said there are common sense laws and I showed they are not common sense. That there is an argument to be made making them not common sense.
1
@223Drone " Many studies" List them. Go.
1
@j0j0dartiste21 " find the ones that support the idea that arming teachers PREVENTS school shootings" There are schools with armed teachers. Zero shootings at them. Also, look up the 1997 story of vice principal Joel Myrick. He used a gun to stop a school shooter. But go ahead and ignore that.
1
@223Drone look up vice principal Joel Myrick. In 1997 he used his gun to stop a school shooter. But you will never hear about that as it does not support a narrative.
1
There is a school in TX near where I live that has armed teachers. Zero problems.
1
@milkmyduds been that way for years. This shooter went after this location due to less security.
1
@milkmyduds why?
1
@milkmyduds Brazos High School in TX.
1
@milkmyduds so you don't want a gun, you don't have to get one. But at that school, and others in TX teachers are armed. "There's a reason why the UK has only ever had one school shooting in its entire history, and it isn't because they arm teachers." That is an issue of culture. If you remove all gun murders in the US from the data the US will have a murder rate that is similar to the UK. The issue is that the US is simply more violent. Guns have nothing to do with that. Our non gun murder rate is still on par with the UK.
1
@j0j0dartiste21 no, they went there because it was less secured. This is a common theme with these shooters.

1
@j0j0dartiste21 ouch, burn on you.
1
@223Drone I did watch the videos. The guards at Uvalde were worthless people. Armed parents wanted to enter the school to stop the shooter but were stopped from doing so. Man you are dense. Why do you love kids dying?
1
@223Drone Brazos High School. Just west of Houston. Come by and visit if you want.
1
@223Drone Brazos High School in TX. Go there sometime. Teachers are armed.
1
@j0j0dartiste21 "ARMY BASES HAVE BEEN SHOT UP IN THE PAST." When? And when was the last time there was a shooting at a gun show or a gun shop?
1
@j0j0dartiste21 "Only stupid people think that just having guns creates some kind of anti violence aura. " Almost all mass shootings happen in gun free zones. Take the movie theater shooting. James Holmes said he picked that place as it was a gun free zone.
1
Doesn't matter. The constitution forbids that.
1
I know, I mean they would not be like Joel Myrick where they can use their gun to alleviate, or even stop a school shooting.
