@erikaeric8313 that is not true. In fact, scientists like Mike Hulme and Myles Allen, the latter who works for the IPCC, are against such rhetoric. What it does is install fear and also, when none of those things happen, it makes skeptics even more skeptical. There is a desire to go to alternative energy, but we can't destroy our economy in the process.

@dragonspartan9031 and is that increase in temperature bad? And what data do you have that there is more extreme weather events? Take the recent tornado. People were blaming climate change. However, the last F5 tornado we had was in 2013. Gee, seems like less extreme weather events. As for diseases, a driving force in evolution is climate change. Fact is we don't know the things you claim we do. The climate has been changing for over 4 billion years. We don't know if current change is bad. We do not know how much man plays a role in current climate change. There is so much we don't know.

@knavishknight again, we do not know what is going to happen with current climate change. What makes climate change immediately bad? It has been changing for over 4 billion years. A driving force in evolution is climate change. If we make radical changes in our energy sector, which destroys our economy, and in the end nothing changes with climate change, now we have two problems.

@dragonspartan9031 being blunt, this is why the left have a hard time getting scientists to speak on their behalf on this issue but instead get a teenage girl from Sweden.
2
@dragonspartan9031 care to share me some of those articles? Are they peer reviewed? And who said anything about the status quo? I support going to alternative forms of energy. I just feel we can't freak out in doing so. Read Mike Hulme's book "Why We Disagree About Climate Change" Very good book. The issue is complex.

People are sick of the woke issue. People are sick of hearing about racism where racism is not the issue at that time. People are sick of the LGBT group being pushed on them. People are sick of those issues.

@bigkroner766 that is the point, they have equal treatment. That is what annoys people. Take the gay community for example. They wanted to be able to get married. Ok, fine, they got it. Now you have the gay men choir singing about converting children. Or what happened on Blues Clue with a trans woman singing about being trans. Or how the media celebrated with mayor Pete Buttplug or Dickless Levine were made part of the Biden team because they were gay and trans. No one cares if they someone is gay. People are sick of it having be rubbed into their faces.

What does race have to do with this?

@lakeishaskinner1048 crt exists. That is why so many people are lashing out on it.
1
@lakeishaskinner1048 it exists in grade school. Not all but enough for parents to lash out.
1
@lakeishaskinner1048 but race aside, I do see a bigger problem in public education when it comes to how they teach climate change.
1
It is actually the left that does that. Take climate change, the left have been freaking out about it for decades. If their predictions were correct the world would be on fire, under water and iced over all at once now.
1
@JuanTooThreigh there is a difference between knowledge and propaganda.
1
The problem is that many who are "woke" are not seeing reality. Take CRT for example. Many who are 'woke" really feel racism is a big problem in this nation when it is not. Same is now with climate change. There are many doubts regarding climate change. People who feel it is a big deal want to push propaganda on it and change people's lives.

@Dodgerzden I agree the extremists are a problem. On climate change Myles Allen from the IPCC opposes such talks that the world is going to end in X amount of years if we don't act. He said that turns people away who are on the fence on the issues. As in, after X amount of years pass and nothing happens, people on the fence stop listening. In fact, we kind of see it now with climate change. After all the fear talk from the 90s and early 2000s if those people were right the world would be on fire, under water and iced over by now. We aren't. We are doing fine.

The issue with climate change is that we do not know if it is a threat. And if it is a threat, how do we approach it?
