The issue is that from day one Chauvin was consider guilty well before all the information was out. There were riots occurring before all the evidence was released. And even when it was and there was doubt in the situation there were threats of violence and riots if he was not found guilty. Basically violence was used for people to get their way as opposed to actual evidence.

@Quanic2000 he was resisting arrest and was high on drugs. There were three other black individuals with Floyd at the time, none were harmed.

@Quanic2000 not always, but he was in bad health to begin with. Like with Eric Garner who was obese and a bear hug would have killed him. Being high on drugs, unpredictable and in bad health led to his death.

@daryno9073 it wasn't clear as day. That is why we have a justice system. And even handcuffed and other police officers he can still get violent. That has happened before.

@taragnor so people, who are not cops nor medical experts and had no skin in the game telling a cop, who places his life on the line, to stop? Beheading kills 100%. I am not racist. At the very worse this was 3rd degree murder, race had nothing to do with it. So place, stop being racist.

@jeffarnold3800 I read the autopsy report, it was not conclusive. And yes, there was threat of violence.

@morganrowell1373 I never said Floyd was guilty. Saying that him, like Eric Garner, was in very bad health and in Floyd's case the drugs made it worse. It won't take much to kill someone like that.

@arturama8581 extra careful if they are high on drugs? Remember the guy on bath salts eating a person's face? He was tazed and kept going. Someone on drugs is far more dangerous a times. "Everytime a suspect dies before making it to jail or court, the cops failed to do their job!" So someone shooting at cops is a situation where cops need to not shoot back?

@daryno9073 Derek did not choke him. And he was high on drugs and acting irrational. And yes, drugs can give you more strength and higher pain tolerance. Navy Seals are trained to break handcuffs, they are not that strong. But hey, you guys are undermining the justice system. Even if Derek is guilty this is what, one victory vs many losses? Enjoy it while you can I guess.

@muntu1221 Derek was convicted of murder. But consider the level of murder. I will admit when I watched the whole thing I felt that, at worse, Derek will get manslaughter. One of the guilty charges was 2nd degree. Do you know what 2nd degree murder entails? When you do you have to admit that, at the very least, Derek should not have been convicted of 2nd degree murder. The fact that he was shows that this case was never about the evidence and the law but all the other things surrounding it.

Alex Wynters watch the full video and explain to me how it was 2nd degree murder. The fact he was convicted of 2nd degree murder and people like you cheer about it shows that you have no care about the law and only care about winning. I will admit, when I first watched the whole thing I felt that at worse Derek will get manslaughter, but no way 2nd degree because there was nothing showing he committed 2nd degree murder based on how the law is written.

@muntu1221 never fully argued he was not guilty. Saying the election was not fair from the beginning. I admit that it can be manslaughter. The problems are one, from the very beginning people labeled Chauvin as guilty before a trial happened. Before all the evidence was released. You can't do that. It is wrong no matter what the situation. Say that were to happen to you? Say you were to kill someone for whatever reason and immediately the entire media and a good portion of the nation labeled you as guilty from day one even before a trial? And me saying manslaughter does not mean he is innocent. On a legal basis he did not commit 2nd degree murder. I am saying you are no better than Chauvin cheering on a 2nd degree murder conviction because he, in no way, committed that. You are supporting him being determined guilty of a crime he did not commit. That is wrong. "The felony was STRANGLING GEORGE FLOYD. The felony was holding a man down by his neck as he pleaded for his life, denying him either reprieve or medical attention. That is felony assault." No, he was arresting him. He was not committing felony assault. So if a cop forces someone in the back of their car, is that felony assault? "is that the jury was stacked against him due to the threat of violence. YOU need to prove THAT premise." So seeing months of chaos and violence and the jurors' names being out there in public does not factor in? This is why the case should have been done outside of Minneapolis as well. Face it, you do not support law nor the justice system. You support mob rule. You would support hanging Chauvin if the judge said to do it.

@muntu1221 he did not receive a fair trial because there was threat of violence taking place. Again, how many felt threatened? That is a legit situation. The case should have never been in Minneapolis at that point. "If people watched me murder someone and I was arrested for murder and all the available evidence makes it look like murder? Who gives a shit what I think? People have every reason to think I would have committed murder. My time to argue otherwise is in court." Ok, but meanwhile people are rioting, committing violence, are saying the will commit more violence if you are not found guilty. The members of the jury live in that very city where rioting occurs, don't you think that will play a role? It is like the trolley experiment, who do we sacrifice? One man, or the many businesses and thus business owners? Also, does the jury place their lives in danger? That is a legit point to consider. Face it, your side used the violence mob to get your way as opposed to using laws. You are no better off than Derek. You just can't admit it but that is a fact. He never committed second degree murder. Please, learn the law if you are going to have an opinion. If you say he did than you are going to strap down cops to such a high degree that they will not be able to do their job. You can argue manslaughter, not 2nd degree murder. Face it, if it were allowed you would support publicly hanging Derek. Thankfully we are still somewhat civil for now.

@muntu1221 I am all for holding police accountable, but I support a standard and a system. Declaring a cop is guilty on day one, crying racism in the process when others have died in a similar way (look up Tony Timpa), and over convicting a guy in the process after months of rioting, that is a dangerous route to take. A violent mob should not dictate a case outcome. Neither should the media and public opinion. But in this case it did. Again, there is no second degree murder here. Here you say "You're acting as if "arrest" is an action exclusive from committing a crime. If an officer holds someone down and forcefully has sex with them while they're in handcuffs, is it no longer rape just because they're also arresting them?" Having sex with someone is not standard police procedure in any state. So it will be rape in that case. Holding someone down is. Now if you want to change police procedures that is a fair discussion to have, but suspects have been held down many times before with no problem. It is standard police procedure. So he was not committing a felony. Thus, not second degree murder.

This cop was so racist that he did not harm to the other three black individuals that were with Floyd at that time. He, and the other cops, tried to help him as he said he could not breath offering to roll down the window for him in the patrol car. They called an ambulance for him. But yep, he is racist. The left is destroying our country here.

@muntu1221 do you know what second degree murder means? It means that in the act of committing a felony, such as a robbery, someone dies. For example, if you are robbing a store with no intentions to kill someone, but you end up shooting someone anyway, that is 2nd degree murder. Derek was not doing that. He was arresting someone. This is, as I said, manslaughter at worse as manslaughter is killing due to reckless behavior. Please, learn the law. Basically you guys are celebrating ignoring the law and finding someone guilty just so you can "win". You are no better than Derek Chauvin at this point. That is ironic.

@wolfstar675 not worshiping the police. I am highly critical of them. But I do so based on logic and reasoning and not emotions. From day one Derek was labeled as guilty, and no other evidence was going to change people's minds because many on the left was crying racism and police brutality well before the facts came out and refused to back down after more came. That is a problem. It lead to violence and threats towards the jury and anyone who testified in favor of Derek.

Either way, that is not the cops' fault. You bring up on incident out of the billions of interactions between cops and civilians. The reason why the Floyd incident is focused on so much is because it is rare, thus it become news. If it was the norm it won't be news. It being rare makes it news as it hardly happens.

Events where that happens are very rare which is why they become news. Maybe if Floyd was not high on drugs and was not a criminal he would not panic. Why did everyone else with him remained calm? He would not have been killed if he was white? Really? Are you going to go down that path? Look up Tony Timpa. And it isn't about defending the cop but about having a standard in the justice system. The media and democrats making Derek guilty before a trial even took place, and not condemning the violence from the riots is a problem. .

Just prepare for less cops now and more violence in your cities. I admitted at the beginning of all of this that at worse it is manslaughter. When you look at the law and what 2nd degree murder entails nothing suggest that Derek committed that. So all those cheering on the guilty verdict are no better than Derek at this case as you are punishing someone above the law.

@fernie6299 you say all of that but here is an issue. Derek is found guilty on 2nd degree murder where nothing suggested that was the case. I said at the beginning this was manslaughter at worse. But no way 2nd degree. And as more evidence came out it became more clear that it was 2nd degree. Problem is that there was so much pressure and threat of violence to find him guilty that he was convicted of 2nd degree murder where, base on how the law is written, that is not the case. Thus, people cheering on that are no better than Derek at that point because they are punishing someone beyond how the law was written.
