  27.  @unreasonable-man.bsky.social  again, the legit concerns are that this went from "2 weeks to flatten the curve" to "take the vaccine or you will lose rights". Some states/cities are pushing for vaccine passports. Along with talks of the vaccines there is no talks about long term immunity that one develops after vaccination. Why don't our leaders say "if you were infected you can hold off on taking the vaccine while we distributed globally to those that want/need it"? That will be a way better marketing tool. As for the lockdowns, many businesses were closed down forever now. Gyms were closed down, schools were closed down. Sure, you may have been fine with it, but many weren't. This virus was never that dangerous to justify what we did. "No one is discussing natural immunity because letting the disease run rampant until we reach that point is not acceptable. Too many would die, and the risk of mutation would be too high." The virus will mutate anyways and one can argue that a vaccine actually increases immunity. Also, Dr. Makary of John Hopkins argued natural immunity and he was heavily criticized. Since the second week of January cases dropped fast even with a low vaccination rate. That was because of natural immunity. One can easily argue that we should have protected our vulnerable that want to be protected and let it spread. That is why Sweden did and they ended this all quickly. A vaccine was never guaranteed and one can argue that natural immunity is actually better than the vaccine. Also, one can argue the lockdowns did more damaged. Substance abuse deaths went up because of the lockdowns. What we did was a complete failure by almost all objective measures. But the government keeps pushing it. Now the scary talk is of the delta variant.
