Playing a video game is being an individual, living in a fantasy world, and not interacting with society.

Myles Allen of the IPCC spoke against such rhetoric as that is not what climate scientists are saying. He said the end of the world talk was actually dangerous.

So any problems with police you can talk to your local community, local government officials like the mayor and city council, or volunteer to work on the city council. People pushing the idea of abolish the police make it feel like police are some group from some outside source that the people cannot control when they can.

Is it something we should look at? Yes. However, to cry end of the world unless we act radically now is insane. The left going insane, refusing to budge on issue, and crying racism as excuses for not doing well are not ways to win. As he was suggesting, sure you won't get the climate change package you want in the end. But you are getting something as opposed the nothing.

There is always room for improvement, but many young people on the left freaking out about racism and climate change and pronouns are fools. The only racism we have now are those bringing up race in none race issue, or looking at skin color as opposed to being colored blind. Also, what you said about my arguments are wrong. I have well laid out arguments. I don't say "what if I was right" but instead saying these are the variables involved to consider on these complex issues. Consider one argument here on climate change. I literally cited Myles Allen from the IPCC warning about the rhetoric of this fear mongering on climate change deadlines. And people like you bring insults. It is the same as other issues. But whatever. My experience is the left starts with talking points, and when pushed with logic and reasoning they bring insults.

Video games require very little skills and thought. Sports is always evolving. Heck, since the early 2000s nerds got involved in baseball due to how mental sports are. It does not require skill to understand patterns in a computer code.

Most who watch sports do a lot of things with sports in the background. As I write this I have a college football game on. After I write this comment I will go back reading about low field NMR with that same game in the background. So there is that. Covid? Grow up. Covid is not that dangerous. If it was we would have been seeing so many people dying with all these pack stadiums. We aren't. What has killed more people were the covid restrictions. How is capitalism killing society? What we are seeing now is the opposite of capitalism. Money being given away, strict regulations, deciding what businesses were essential and what aren't, etc. And profits ahead of human life? What is wrong with profits? Do you not work a job to profit? Everyone who is smart who does it. Yes, the company I work for makes way more in profit than when I was a cook. In fact, they just made record profits. The restaurant I worked for made pennies in profit compared to every dollar they spent. I earned $8/hr. With my current job yes, they made record profits, but I am just one small worker in it. I also earn 6 figures now, have a company car, great benefits, etc. Wage slaves? Really? Grow up. You need to work in life, period. Do you think goods and services appear out of nowhere?

Games these days spoon feed people. I remember playing the original Goldeneye on N64. Open map, vague goals, you really had to explore. They released it again, and other james bond games that were so linear. Little thought involved.

In the past someone will go to church on Sunday and then play football. Or players on football will play both offense and defense. Not these days as the game is so specialized. Think about why in the NFL we still have long snappers taking up limited roster space? Or in baseball left hander pitchers are valued so high because left handed hitters still have a challenge hitting them? And watching someone for the personality and commentary? Really? Go listen to some expert give information on complex issues.

  47. One, it goes both ways. Why do people on the left don't ask what made people sour to vote for Trump? Next, the issue is that abolishing the police is an asinine idea. Those pushing for it feel it takes federal action up top when police are paid for an ran locally. If you have a problem with cops, deal with it at the community level. Also, those pushing to abolish the police have poor examples in why. They point to cops supposedly killing blacks when almost all blacks who were killed were breaking a law to a degree they had to be. Along with that, this whole "let us all hold hands together and get along" narrative is not going to work. On capitalism, all throughout history has shown capitalism is the best economic system to follow. Who doesn't capitalism work for? I earn less than $100,000 a year, many do and are fine. In places with high cost of living it won't but those places typically have less capitalism with higher taxes, higher regulations, etc. And saying doing something about it, do what? That is vague.
