@snoopy_peanuts_77 And here you are proving my point. What fascist behavior? How many on the right have you interacted with? I bet very few.
2
@snoopy_peanuts_77 explain how the right are fascist. We can be polite and start there. If not then you are proving my point on being dismissive.
2
It is difficult compared to those on the left.
1
The GOP does care about inflation. The left is the only one freaking out about social issues. The right have moved on long ago.
1
People on the left have no clue how the right feel about gays. For the most part people on the right do not care. There are more important things to worry about. It is the left that make a big deal about someone being gay. Trump promoted Richard Grennel as US Ambassador to Germany. He never made a big deal about it. Biden's team hires a gay person and everyone makes a big deal about it. Only the left is making a big deal about the gay issue. People on the right do not care.

No one is stopping anyone from getting married. It just comes down to if states recognize it.
1
@awkwardbound569 what was incorrect about what I said?
1
@BardaLiefson you do know many people get married without a church? Also, I as a single person do not get the same benefits as a straight couple. That is unequal treatment as well. So there is that. Best route would be to get government out of marriage.
1
@FrozEnbyWolf150 what rights are going to be overridden?
1
@223Drone "You're being utterly disingenuous and you know. Single people not getting the same benefits as married people isn't "unequal treatment"." Wow, really?
1
@jamescarr4504 it is by choice. I have no desire to be in a relationship. I enjoy being an individual.
1
@anthonydelfino6171 there are work arounds to all of that. And there are cases were someone make bad decisions for their spouse because divorce is so difficult. You are making it seem like marriage is the only option when really there are other options. "There are literally thousands of rights you lose if the state says they don't recognize your union." Such as?
1
@anthonydelfino6171 "It means you don't get survivor benefits from the military or social security" There are other legal options one can take. Similar to how my life insurance plan is set so if I die my sister gets the benefits.
1
@anthonydelfino6171 the work arounds does not mean hiring a lawyer. When I signed off so my sister gets my life insurance if I die, you can do the same for other cases. Many people block their parents from any interactions in their life. With SS you can do legal workarounds there. You make it sound like marriage is the only option when it isn't. And I also told you the issue with divorce and how hard that can happen. It almost happened with my sister and her medical decisions. She wanted to divorce but the hospital deemed her not mentally fit enough to make such decisions, so her husband almost made out with the child and a lot of money. Luckily, she became fit enough to divorce her husband, but it was very close to him taking money and the kid all because divorce was difficult.
1
@anthonydelfino6171 as for inheritance, there are these things called wills.
1
@self_suppression_hole so me wanting to get government out of all marriage is separate but equal? That makes zero sense. "If the government refuses to provide you the legal and financial benefits a heterosexual couple would receive in the exact same situation, that's discrimination by definition." Yeah, and I want government out of marriage all together. Why should married people get special benefits over single people? Why do you support separate but equal?
1
@knavishknight if you do not write a will that is on you at that point. Again, I don't want government to recognize any marriage. Why is it so hard for you guys to understand?
1
@page8301 how is it nonsense?
1
@self_suppression_hole here is the problem, you accused me of supporting separate but equal without knowing my actual stance on it. To me giving benefits to married couples that single people can't have is, arguably, separate but equal. But the bigger picture, why is government involved in marriage to begin with? I want government out of marriage. That is what I support. So why did you accuse me of supporting separate but equal? That is the problem I have with your comment.
1
@self_suppression_hole we are talking about that though. People are concerned about gay marriage when my stance to solve the issue is to get government out of marriage. And the state getting out of marriage does not stop anyone from getting married. You can still get married by whatever standard you have, the government just won't give you any special benefits. The issue is that you, like all leftists, feel government needs to intervene for something to exist. If government is not involved in marriage it will cease to exist even though people can still do it in one way or another. If government does not create schools education will cease to exist even though there are private schools and home schooling. If government does not intervene roads will cease to exist even though roads did not exist in the 1800s when people traveled across the country in their covered wagons. This is not an argument for no government BTW. What I am saying is that you are in a position that you feel if government is not involved in some aspect in life it will cease to exist which is something you need to think about.

When it comes to interaction with the common man those on the right are typically more polite than those on the left.
1
@kiesarisunny13 I doubt that. Conservatives are typically more polite compared to the left. When you try to engage with the left they will dismiss you, call you names, berate you. They refuse to have a conversation. Not saying the right is 100% guilt free, but it is the left that has overtaken our institutions and silences their opponents.
1
@kiesarisunny13 well, a point is that we may agree, but we should both be polite. Look at this comment thread. Vernon Hector immediately called those on the right fascists which proves my point. How are they fascists? Jumping straight to name calling is being rude. But even at that I am going to give the person a chance to explain how those on the right are fascists.
1
@knavishknight no, a rude person is someone you really can't be reason with. The reason is because they have no desire to have an actual conversation and learn.
1
@knavishknight Tucker is correct. The left keeps being rude and dismissive. If they keep doing that our nation will become more divided leading to the right finally becoming fed up and attacking back. Sorry, after months of rioting from the left, and the left creating covid lockdowns, and the left putting Biden as president who is doing massive federal government overreach and using the FBI to go after their political opponent, they are the true fascist. Please explain to me how the right is fascist when the left is the one doing constant government overreach and literally oppressing people. I gave you examples, now your turn.
1
@knavishknight again, I laid out how democrats are fascists. You ignore it. So how are republicans fascists?
