  7.  @Badgraphics26  and how would brakes stop this? This was a bearing that overheated. When a car falls off the tracks the brakes can do next to nothing. Automatic emergency brakes were already applied. As for a skeleton crew, we are short workers everywhere. A lot of it is due to the covid response by the democrats and Biden not motivating people to work. Under Trump worker participation was going up when it was falling for years prior. We are still below pre-covid worker participation rate.

Since February of 2020 states that have seen positive job growth are TX, FL, and GA. States that have seen negative job growth are NY, MI, PA and IL. Now compare those state's covid response. Massive infrastructure? You mean one that led to this derailment? Stood up for ordinary people? By going overseas and falling down stairs and spending 10s of million in Ukraine while not even showing up to Ohio for a photoshoot? And which "right winger" wants to privatize social security and medicare? In Biden's SOTU address he literally lied about sunsetting those programs. He supported sunsetting social security and medicare for decades. And with Ukraine, funny how Russia did not invade them under Trump but did under Biden.

  19.  @FrozEnbyWolf150  you know how hot bearings get? And do you know how fast they get? There is no way to to censor that. They heat up quickly. Do me a favor, go to your kitchen, put a pan on the stove, turn it on medium heat and place your hand on it and time how fast it heats up on medium heat. It does not take long. Now compare that to a bearing on a train going 40 mph that is hot already. It will overheat quickly. And you don't want to just jam on the brakes because that will cause the train to derail as well. Do me another favor, drive 40 mph down the road and then just jam on the brakes. Do you stop smoothly and straight? No. Now apply that to a train that is many tons in weight.

Around 30,000 people die a year in traffic accident deaths. You know what will make that value be zero? capping the speed of call cars to 15 mph. But what damage will that create? There will always be some damage in society no matter what we do. We try the best to minimize it. This accident is making such big news because it is so rare. Think about that. You know what would have stopped this accident all together? Banning all trains. Do you support that?
