  1. The defense budget has been dropping for decades while social welfare programs have been increasing. That is why there is no outrage for the defense budget increase. Also, the increase in the defense budget is minute compared to what AOC wants to do. Also, Medicare for all will not be cheaper. People won't save money.

  4. jl sc, saying we spend more on defense than the next 7 nations combine is a poor argument. Our GDP is comparable to those nations combine. We spend more on education than many of those same nations combine. So by that standard we need to cut education spending.

  5. The defense budget is constitutional and also a drop in the bucket compared to the cost of healthcare. That is the major difference.
