  11.  @lloroshastar6347  " I think the trouble is you're probably used to talking to other Americans who generally speaking have a rather poor understanding of the world outside of the US so you're used to your arguments being more effective." No. I know a lot of international people in the US. "However when you encounter someone with a more broad understanding of the world you don't fair as well." No. I fair pretty well. At the beginning you said gun laws lead to low crime. When I gave you examples of that not being the case you squirmed and then started bringing up other factors that led to crime. That is my point, guns are not the issue. Other factors are. In Iran they have many guns laws and because of that the government there oppresses their citizens. I know a lot of Iranians and that is what they told me. "Take what you said about the police here, like that was just an outright lie, you said you've been to the UK, entirely possible, but then you just said 'UK police are armed'. That's extremely easy to debunk, and you were just basing your entire argument on an anecdote." I was there, I saw armed cops. Even at that, in the US many cops never discharge their firearms. "In fact even terrorist attacks here are usually carried out with knives or homemade bombs because guns are so hard to come by." So criminals find another way. Just like in France a terrorist used a truck to kill 87 people. In the US the deadliest attack on a school was via a bombing. "Actually, during the troubles the IRA used to smuggle in guns from the US frequently, in the same way people smuggle in cocaine from Colombia, the US is the source of the problem." There is no evidence that the US is the source of the problem. Even at that, they are breaking the law by smuggling guns. Seems like the gun laws are not working.
