@lloroshastar6347 In the UK murders are low in general compared to the US. The UK has a murder rate, if I recall, of 1.2 per 100,000. The US has one that is 7.5 per 100,000. If you find a magical law in the US that not only stopped all gun murders, but also those who were going to commit a murder with a gun you stopped them from committing murder in general, the US murder rate will still be 1.6 per 100,000, higher than the UK. And again, that is if that law stopped all those who were going to commit murder with a gun also stopped them from committing murder in general, which would not be the case. So facts are not on your side here bud.

@lloroshastar6347 there is no correlation between gun laws and homicide rates. Jamaica and El Salvador have very strict gun laws and are the top two in the world in homicide rates, including gun homicide rates. The police in the UK are armed, I have been there. "The data just doesn't back up the lax gun law position, not even remotely" And the data does not back up the other position either, not even remotely. Again, look at Jamaica and El Salvador. Or look at Mexico. Even in the US there are states with very lax gun laws like Vermont with no problems. Why is that?

@lloroshastar6347 that is not true. Again, look at Jamaica. Next, in Australia, prior to 1996 gun crime was already dropping to begin with. There is no direct correlation.

Gee, it seems like the gun laws there are not working. Kind of destroys your argument. Australia does not have strict gun laws to begin with. They are on par with the US. Gangs are funded by the US? You seem like someone who has never been in an argument with someone who knows what really goes on in the world. That is why you are doing so poorly here.

@makeinubaka and even with that people still die in traffic accidents. And many still break the law. Where I live car insurance is high as there is a high rate of uninsured driving the road. Same is with gun laws. We have many laws on the books that criminals do not follow.

They are rare to begin with, that is why they make so much news. Also, removing guns does not end people's tendency to be violent. Why doesn't the left want to take on the challenge to take help the person?

Who supports the murder of children? The reality is basically no one does. However, there is no ideal solution. In the US we simply live in a more violent nation compared to others. Along with that, going after guns will not stop any of these shootings. What will alleviate them is stop dividing us as a nation like the left does.

@hopeintruth5119 I agree it can be amended, and that is how it changes. It is not a living document as you say it is. There is no amendment to override the 2nd, so owning a gun is still a right. Plus, the process of amending it very difficult.

Uh, that is how this nation was developed. You know, a bunch of farmers stood up to the strongest army in the world at the time. A bunch of people loading up their wagons, placing themselves at risk of disease to seek their fortune. @devonlynch6042 where is your stopping point? That is the issue. At some point there has to be a stopping point. That is why people like Mike wants to ban the AR 15, it will lead to other bans as now there is a legal pathway to now ban guns. And he will just use the vague term of saying that it is "common sense".
