@bkk115 over 98% is essentially 100%. The less than 2% are the exceptions which exists in all of healthcare. Take HIV for example, it is estimated around 10% of Caucasian people have resistance to it. Those people are the exception. Also, again, over 60% of the US is vaccinated and case numbers are record high. So no, this covid "vaccine" is not a vaccine.

We need to move on. Every other school district is open and has been for well over a year and are doing fine. The Chicago teachers are simply lazy.

@emilianorosales235 move on is the option. Of the teacher that supposedly died, what was their health status? Many school districts across the nation are wide open and are doing fine. My nieces are doing find in their schools. Your one story does not represent the norm. I say that because when I was in 5th grade one of the teachers in the middle I was at in the time died of a heart attack. Thus, teachers have always died in the middle of the school year. Moving on is where we need to be. If you disagree then you feel kids do not deserve an education at this point.

It was on illegal immigration and those receiving natural born citizenship. He shifted the conversation from that to immigration in general as if he was trying to get me to say I opposed all immigration. @bkk115 vaccines are rarely 100% effective? The polio vaccine is over 98% effective. For the less than 2% they are the exception, not the rule. So essentially the polio vaccine is 100% effective. Same for other vaccines. This covid vaccine is not even 80% effective. That is why it is no longer called breakthrough cases as the vaccine does not stop the spread. That is why we have record cases despite over 60% of the US being vaccinated. As for the ICU bed argument, why stop at the vaccine? Why not ban healthcare to those who are obese?

@bkk115 one, there is always error in statistics. Next, as I said, there are always exceptions in healthcare. So yes, you can say that there is no vaccine that is 100% effective, but that is with all medications. 98% is essentially 100% in healthcare. Now with the covid "vaccine" you have many people who are triple vax now getting infected. A Harvard study said that there is no correlation between vaccination rates and infection rates. What other vaccine leads to that?

The people where the vaccine is not effective for are the rare case and the exception which happens all across healthcare. For the flu, it is referred to as a flu shot for a reason. If you want to call it the covid shot I am fine with that. But what other vaccine do you need 3 shots in less than a year but does not stop infection?

Yes, with tetanus you need a booster, but as you said in 10 years, not a few months. People are still becoming infected with covid even after vaccination. For example, in a paper I published for my PhD I collected experimental data and I compared it to theoretical data. Did the numbers completely match? No as theoretical data can't factor in all variables that occur in experiments. However, my experimental data had an error bar attached to it and within the margin of error the numbers did match. Your planet example is poor as nothing in science is 100%. There is always error. You try to alleviate the error, but error still exists. For example, look at the Apollo 1 fire. Think how much time and money was put in planning that.

@bkk115 if you don't want to use "margin of error" you can say standard deviation as well when it comes to the numbers. Or you can use a confidence interval or threshold. There are many ways. But nothing in science is 100%. Even something as simple as gravity. If you throw a ball in the air there is some very minute chance it won't fall down because in science there is always the element of doubt. But for all intents and purposes it is essentially 100% it will fall down. So back to vaccines. Yes, you can say 98% is not 100%. But in science it pretty much is.

@bkk115 not fishing, that is how science works. Ever read a bottle of hand sanitizer? It says kills 99.9% of germs. Not 100%. As I said, nothing in science is 100%. There is error, there are other variables. Early on in chemistry class you learn significant figures and accuracy and precision. Have you heard of that? Typically the example is giving is a target. Or a great example is what Walter Lewin did in one of his recorded lectures. He used physics to predict where a ball, launched off of a catapult, will land based on the angle, the velocity, etc. He did it twice and the ball landed at different positions both times. However, in his estimate, he accounted for some variance and within that the ball landed there. So even newtonian physics is not 100%

@TheHuxleyAgnostic on the majority of mumps cases being vaccinated, what percent of people are vaccinated for the mumps? Over 90% from what I see. So at that point of course the majority of mumps cases are with the vaccinated as so many are vaccinated to begin with. With the covid vaccine around 60% are vaccinated but the rate of infection between the vaccinated and unvaccinated is the same.

@bkk115 who said I was a physicist? I have a degree in it, but in my graduate study I went after laser spectroscopy. I don't know everything about physics off of the top of my head. I also have a chemistry degree as well and took organic chemistry. If you were to ask me to name all the functional groups I would struggle as I have not in a while. But I can easily look it up. Even with studying elementary particle physics. I can name some of them such as muon or positron. I can name some of the rules related to them such as lepton rule. But I don't know everything off of the top of my head. As for your sniper example, the the body is of significant size. Even at that, their accuracy is not 100%. You can be aiming for the head and hit the neck. You refuse to name the force from the rotation of the earth because I cited a source showing you are wrong and you became all defensive. Why put "spectroscopy" in quotes? It is an actual field in science. Either way, doesn't matter if you won't hire me, my company did and I am doing well.

So there is that. Based on the 100s of millions that are vaccinated it makes sense that there will be some cases, but it is very rare. That is not the case with the covid vaccine.

Shutting down schools harm at risk kids the most as in those with special needs or those in poverty. After covid I no longer want to hear from the left that they care about the poor and equality because they clearly don't.

What they were addressing was when people were using that study saying the vaccine does not work. The author said that not only should we vax, but we should also keep wearing masks and socially distance. So with that I ask of you, what is the point of the vaccine if we do not get back to normal?

So I just happen to know things like lepton rule, or different quarks like charm and strange? In fact, you talk about forces. There are really only four forces in nature. Gravity, strong, weak and electromagnetic with electromagnetic consisting of around 90% of the known forces according to John David Jackson where his E&M book is basically used in all graduate E&M courses in physics. But yeah, according to you I know nothing about physics.
