So kids can get a proper education. Easy for rich liberals to say keep kids at home, what about kids from low income homes, or special needs kids?

@kevinlynch9207 Trump's CDC did not advise that. They said only to sent them to nursing homes if they had no other space and if they can isolate the sick. Cuomo was not in that position. Plus, Cuomo is not following other directives from the CDC such as if cases dropped for 2 weeks to open back up. It was over a month before he even considered.

@kevinlynch9207 if you go per capita the US is 10th in the world. Also, the deaths are overstated.

@kevinlynch9207 the US is basically 50 nations in one. You cannot coordinate centrally with a nation that large. We never could. That is why state rights exist.

@kevinlynch9207 he doesn't have authority. Do you know the role of the federal government? It is limited to dealing with foreign affairs and commerce between states. He cannot force states to shut downs. So no, he could not have done anything beyond banning travel with other nations. Also, every state experienced this differently. NY was hit hard early on where other states did not. South Dakota experienced no problems and thus never shut down. A one size fits all policy will not work.
