justgivemethetruth Bernie has always been like this. As a career politician in his 70s he is running for president because if he wins he will just do his term and leave. If he loses he just retires. This is his retirement party depending on what the voters want will depend on how long his party will last.

Freedom Fighter Bernie said he will pay for these programs with an increase in SS tax on both employers and workers. But if workers are working less then how will they earn more money to be taxed more? It makes no sense what he is trying to do.

Lightmane321 "The vast majority of Americans agree with most of the things Bernie believes in." Not really. Any poll that says so is asking deceptive and broad questions. People wanted healthcare reform when Obama was elected, we got it, people hate it now. We couldn't get 60 democrat senators to agree to one bill. What people want is very diverse and broad. When broken down they don't support Bernie. Bernie Sanders is an economic illiterate. Taxing the rich more doesn't solve our problems. The rich pay more of the taxes already. Bernie supports a $15/hr min. wage based off of what? It sure isn't math because businesses won't be able to afford it. He wants to spend more money on infrastructure which is what? Building things we don't need or people don't demand doesn't help the economy. You refuse to debate me because you know you will get burned. Pick any topic that Bernie supports and I will show you how clueless he is. Take the min. wage for example. There isn't one single good reason to even have one, but he wants to keep it and make it higher to a value businesses simply can't afford. Bernie is an economic illiterate. I actually hope he gets elected and his policies pass, maybe then people will realize how terrible he is and change their ways.....I doubt it. But you've been warned.

bloodandwinearered Obama was better at hiding his radical views, Sanders is too open about them. He has no chance of winning.

Louis Wu I don't ally with corporations. Sanders is a radical in that he wants to expand the size of the federal government which is the main cause to our problems. He is basically being a fascist. At this point in time he is a step below FDR who threaten to pack the courts until he got his way.

Louis Wu Plus his policies simply won't work.

So if you allow people to take 12 weeks off then who is going to produce anything when they are gone? Same with sick leave. A small business with limited employees loses one who decides to take a sick leave day meaning that someone has to pick up the slack, typically it is the owner who already works a lot. When people take paid vacation it typically happens all around the same time, typically holidays. So a family takes a vacation and goes to a gas station to get gas, but can't because all the workers there are on vacation. According to a gallup poll 50% of workers work 40 hours or less. In 2009 according to the BLS around 5% work more than one job. The simple fact is that if someone takes off then someone has to pick up the slack. Also unless people stay home and sleep on their vacation there has to be someone that provides services to those who want to travel on vacation. Someone has to pick up the slack. A reason why we are seeing a growing income inequality in this country is because we have a group of people who want to earn something for nothing. And we are not lagging behind every other country, what Sanders is saying is deceptive and in several ways is just wrong. Him using emotions won't get him far when he has to actually debate and get into details about his plans that won't work.

Lightmane321 As a moderate that takes an non-bias approach on politics I can say that Bernie has no chance of winning. Winning in tiny Vermont is nothing compared to the US. He is too radical and on every single one of his policies they can easily be attacked and tore down.

vedant varma He is radical and the US citizens don't support his ideas.

vedant varma What's your point?

nicomp1 Exactly.
