So many deceptive statements 1.Those states that raised the min. wage saw an increase in teenage and unskilled unemployment. There are several factors that effect overall job growth. If the min. wage did lead to job growth then why not $50/hr? 2. Comparing the min. wage rate to that of 1968 is one, cherry picking, the min. wage has been around longer then that, and two, makes the assumption that those earning the min. wage are valued higher then in 1968, they aren't. Yes there have been inflation as a whole in the economy, but not everything inflates. Take the blockbuster employees, they are now worth $0/hr. Some goods and services have seen their value drop or remain stagnate and the same is with employees. 3. Less than 50 million in the US are in poverty, where is he getting this billions from. Bernie loves playing politics while knowing nothing about the economy.

ross schopp None of what you said is true. You do know who works on weekends for long hours and low pay? Successful people. I am in grad. school and I work 12 hours a day 6 days a week right now until I get done with my tests and get funding. You are complaining about being overworked when those who are rich and successful got that way with hard work.

ross schopp You are right, my bad. According to the BLS around 3 million people are earning at or below the min. wage. So not really the tens of millions of workers as he claims.

ross schopp Considering the car I drive is better than a car a rich person drove in the 80s, or my cell phone is better than what a rich person owned in the 90s I would say that everyone's wealth went up.

***** In the end it doesn't matter. You are paid what you are worth in the market. That is determined by how much capital you create. You can't just pay someone an arbitrary amount because that hinders the economy.

ross schopp As long as politicians like Sanders don't get their way then we do have a future. People are better off today then in the past. Life expectancy is up along with personal wealth and income. We are doing better, people are just spoiled.
1
ross schopp It does because that means the purchasing power of the dollar is up.

ross schopp A reason why a loaf of bread cost more but a TV cost less is due to policies like the min. wage. The min. wage has outpaced productivity in the jobs that pay low wages. To counter prices had to go up. Even with that people still have more disposable income now then in the past.

***** The average hourly wage is over $24/hr. Us as a nation shouldn't be pushing for more archaic low skilled jobs but instead higher skilled jobs. Jobs come and go as a society develops. You don't see people with hoes digging in the farm anymore due to technology replacing them. Those workers went elsewhere. It happens as the economy evolves and technology gets better. As that happens goods and services become more affordable. Labor unions became greedy and ended up eliminated jobs pushing them to other countries. And the products we receive work well and better than in the past.

ross schopp TVs do cost less and are better than in the past. Remember that scene from Back to the Future where Michael J. Fox mentioned about having 2 TVs? My parents have 4 TVs, I have one in my apartment along with 3 computers and a tablet and 2 smart phones. They are cheaper.
