  1. And how would these laws prevent any of these shootings?  The Louisiana shooter passed a background check and had no record.  So how are these gun laws going to prevent shootings? Gun control is a smoke screen from the political left to say "we want to lower violence, but we don't want to do any actual work in doing so".  There are other ways to lower crime that don't involve taking our rights away.
