The Citizens United ruling was in that there was going to be a movie released about Hilliary Clinton that was blocked by the federal government. That violates free speech. Plus money in politics would not be an issue if the federal government has limitations to begin with. Democrats supporting more federal government is just opening the door to more bribes.

  11. Fiasco Linguini The GOP wants the states to have their own EPAs. The federal government isn't supposed to have such a program. It follows the idea of state rights and checks and balances. You are so concerned about your precious EPA, that barely scratches the budget of the federal government, while the federal government continues to bail out businesses and receives bribes from corporations. The GOP wants to get rid of the bribery, but you have to limit the federal government. That means get rid of the federal EPA.

People have more control of local governments and people can move to another state and remain a US citizen if the local government doesn't work for them. Democrats wanting a larger federal government is a means for them to have others do all the work and pay for democrat voters laziness.

He is for Vermont, but I don't want him controlling my life. I bet you feel the same about a Ted Cruz or Mitch McConnell. You are blindly following Bernie and you are more that willing to give him power but then complain when others at the federal level, those you can't even vote for misuse it.

  15. Mads Max Bernie was absent from roll call during voting around 3% in his career, that is higher than the median of around 1.6%. He has been be absent more than most congress members.

How about we break up the federal government. Follow the constitution and restrict the federal government. The big banks did nothing, it was the federal government that caused the problem. You are wanting to attack big banks without realizing they are not the problem. I bet you felt that the Glass-Steagal repeal was the problem. Wouldn't surprise me if you did.

There are around 15,000 economists in the US. 170 is small. Plus none of them are considered "top economists" which means that article is lying just from the title alone. A top economists in academia is based off of citations. Those 170 are not "top economists". So one topic done showing how ignorant Bernie is.....next

  21. +poptart 523 Your point does not stand. Recessions happen. With the point you were trying to make you are saying that the Glass-Steagall repeal caused the recession. Now you are trying to retract your false statement which won't work on me. The problem isn't with big banks. If you broke them up then what? In a strong economy you will have very successful businesses, including banks. What needs to be done is limiting the power of the federal government. It wasn't the free market that bailed out the banks, it was the federal government. In a strong economy businesses that do poorly fail. Bernie wants to grow the size of the federal government, and he may feel it is a good thing, what will stop future politicians from abusing the new power he gives the federal government and bailing out big banks again? Bernie breaking up the big banks gives the federal government to decide winners and losers in the economy. That does not grow the economy. Once again, I showed how Bernie is an economic illiterate. "If u looked at the names u would recognized some served in the US gov which means they were valued as economist." Which is a problem of big federal government, not big banks.
