  1. +Danny Boy If we did not have such high taxes and regulations then we would not have major problems. We are a developed country. These trade deals allow developing countries with limited jobs to obtain jobs which allows them to grow. This prevents radical groups from overtaking them such as terrorists. We are a developed nation. We need to push people to take on higher skilled jobs and hold onto archaic jobs. Bernie wants "free college" and "free healthcare". An issue with that is that we lack resources and staff. Pushing people to take higher skilled jobs and focus on the STEM fields would help us get more people access to healthcare and college. But holding onto low skill jobs and not pushing people to push for more skills does not grow our economy.

Higher skill jobs do exist, people need to be trained for them. Instead people rather go after gender studies and vote for a politician that offers them free shit.

Banning fracking will kill jobs and no, we can't just go to "clean energy" in that it is not efficient yet. It amazes me how stupid people can be and fall for this guy so easily.

  11. The problem with Bernie is that he will be the one that breaks you legs and then give you crutches saying "Look, you need the government to walk" A great example is the min. wage. After raising it to $15/hr many people will not be able to get jobs. He will create government jobs and say "Look, you need the government to get a job" And this will be after you government funded K-12 education and then "free college"

That's it. In comparison to that you see that CEOs don't earn much.

States and local government would have more control of domestic policies but there will still be limitations on them. This is actually all outlined in the constitution. It is that they are constantly complaining about a rigged this or a rigged that. They are complaining about corruption in the government. They complain how the government is supposedly not working for the people. With that I find it crazy to want to expand government than. I don't like corruption in government either. But the solution is not to expand the federal government. I assume you don't like the corrupt government. Bernie himself may be very sincere, but what about other politicians because they clearly aren't. He is the major flaw in Bernie and his supporters way of thinking. Take the current state of the federal government and how it is corrupt and now imagine it controlling your healthcare, college education, infrastructure spending, jobs for the youth, even more taxes and more of your money. Take this exact same government that Bernie supporters claim is not working for the people and is corrupt and add on the fact that now it controls all of that? Is that really a solution? But anyway, I accept your challenge on economics. Pick any one of his policies and I will break down how it won't work.

  35. +Jen Bailey You can't tie it to productivity because not every job has become more productive. Productivity has increased due to increases in technology. Those that invested in it or created it have seen a wage increase. It is called Skilled Biased Technological Change. With increase technology goods and services do get better and do drop in price. The average hourly earnings is around $24/hr. So earnings have been keeping up with productivity. I have seen Robert Reich reasons. To start, he is not an economist, he is a lawyer. Next, he reasoning is flawed and never gets into detail why $15/hr. It begs the question why not $50/hr?

  40. +TheManCave The vast majority of federal funding in education are to Title I schools, and that is only if that state picks up the federal standards which they don't have too. Around 41 states are following common core meaning not every state follows federal standards. It is similar to smog testing. Areas of the country that follow it get federal funding, others that don't do smog testing on vehicles don't get federal money. "There is no constitutional reason for the federal government to provide education to anybody." And the federal government doesn't provide education to anyone. Education isn't a right. Thus it defaults to the 10th amendment where states can provide public education if they so desire and they do. The only restriction that the states have to follow is that if they do provide it they have to provide it to all via the 14th amendment. Any federal funding of education is unconstitutional. If a state wants to fund college and healthcare they can do that as well. That is that state's rights via the 10th amendment. That is the reasoning behind all of that.
