Social Security is going broke, it has a deficit.    Anyway the payroll tax has led to lower wages and higher healthcare prices.  So next time you hear about stagnate wages you can blame FICA taxes like SS.  Businesses avoided paying higher taxes in payroll by paying for healthcare insurance which is 100% tax free.  Bernie is complaining is about promises not being kept, money up front is basically guaranteed, but the payroll tax has made it harder to raise wages.

With what Bernie said in the beginning the pure fact is that people simply want to mind their own business and have fun.  They don't want to constantly dread on the issues.  This is one reason why the founding fathers wanted a limited federal government and more state rights.  There is a need for government, but with smaller, more local government, and a means to control it (the constitution) you can have a system that works.Bernie wants to expand the size of the federal government making it easier for it to become corrupt and do unethical things under the radar to where the citizens can't see it.  Bernie wants to compound our problems.
