+Sandra Nonofyourbusiness The New Deal prolonged the recession. We have never seen a recovery take so long before until FDR's New Deal and haven't seen a recovery take that long since until now. There is a strong correlation.

Bernie is all rhetoric and no specifics. He appeals to emotions. When emotions go up logic goes down. But if you use logic and reasoning you will see why his policies simply won't work.

+Sandra Nonofyourbusiness It became the great depression because of the slow recovery led by FDR. Every recession except for 2 took around 5 years to recover from. The two that took the longest was the great depression and now. They were also the only times there the federal government made a strong push to "fix" the economy through higher taxes, regulations and spending. All the other times the federal government was hands off. There is a strong correlation there. You know, if the great depression coincided with a time where FDR lowered taxes and spending, never signed the new deal or passed Glass-Steagel than you will be all over it saying that we need government. But that is not what happened.

+AlcaHolicGamer One, that is debatable. Watch Stefan Molyneux "The Myth of Scandinavian Socialism" Another....so what? You can't compare the US to other countries. The differences are too great. Is it a strong comparison to compare the US to a country that has populations less than most of our state? Or country with different histories? You can't. Even if you tried you will see areas where socialism does not work.

+Norderstal "we have one of the highest living standards" Which means what? And based off of what? The US has a high standard of living as well....so what is your point?

+J Fox You can use simple math and realize that we are $18 trillion in debt. Where is the money going to come from for his policies? Take a look at something simple as the $15/hr min. wage. Where is the money going to come from? Businesses simply can't afford higher wages.

+Sandra Nonofyourbusiness Noticed how that middle class grew after FDR was dead? During that time every other country was rebuilding, we weren't. Consider also how taxes were lower due to technology being not as efficient. If you include the tax breaks and had the same technology in the 50s running taxes and our financial system I would take that high 90% tax rate because people would pay less taxes. In 1967 155 people earning over $200,000 a year paid zero taxes. In 1969 we had the Tax Reform Act that still exists to day. You pay around, if not more than 25% income tax. Say you work 4 days, you are working one of those days for free. The New Deal prolonged the depression into a recession and then snow balled into the problems we have now.

+David Alvarez Bernie is all rhetoric and no specifics. That appeals to emotions though. When emotions go up reasoning goes down. That is why he has support. It is scary that he can win like that.

+Norderstal Pick any one of his economic policy and I can break it down in how it won't work.

+Sandra Nonofyourbusiness There were other worldwide recessions as well that took less time to recover from. Take the Panic of 1873 for example. FDR was president during the slowest recovery ever, as Henry Morgenthau Jr. said "We have tried spending money. We are spending more than we have ever spent before and it does not work....We have never begun to tax the people in this country the way they should be.... I don't pay what I should. People of my class don't. People who have it should pay.... After eight years of this administration we have just as much unemployment as when we started...and an enormous debt to boot!"

+Sandra Nonofyourbusiness I know what a depression is compared to a recession. Why did the recession turn into a depression under FDR? How come every other recession never turned out that way? It is because the federal government, for the first time, and only time until now decided to "fix" the economy. Recessions happen, FDR turned that recession into a depression with his New Deal.

+Sandra Nonofyourbusiness Recession happen. Every other recession besides 2 were recovered from in around 5 years. The two that weren't are the Great Depression and the one recently. 8 years is to long of a recovery. It doesn't matter when it began, Reagan took over Carter's recession and we recovered in around 2 years. Under FDR the recession turned into a depression. Sigh, you don't know history very well.

+dragonore2009 I doubt they do. Same with the Panic of 1837 or the Panic of 1873 and so on. The great depression lasted over 10 years, no other recession lasted that long. I always find it amazing that people find FDR so great despite what happened under his watch.

+dragonore2009 What you are saying is true, problem is liberals don't see it that way. They feel big businesses are the problem when the are nothing more then the symptom.

How do they make these lists? Most of these movies I saw as a kid. The Brave Little Toaster had multiple sequels. Ferngully got a lot of views and criticism and later was copied in Avatar. In some cases these movies are just old (as in the case of The Last Starfigher which was used as a parody in ATHF episode Mooninites 4: The Final Mooning"). I would say most of these movies are not underrated.

+Victor Hernandez A radical and a person who is economically illiterate.

Hard Candy isn't revenge. What would be revenge is if an underage girl got raped by an older man and than she took revenge similar to I Spit on Your Grave.
1
Yeah, Hard Candy isn't revenge.

On number 1 it is that they were demons, not aliens. The water that killed them were blessed by the daughter where in the movie she was told she was special, or something like that. She was the daughter of a preacher.
1
Actually it was that they were demons and the water that killed them was blessed by the daughter since she was the daughter of a preacher.
