  1. Thom Hartmann is incorrect. The Constitution limited powers on the governments at all levels. It outlines the duties of the federal government where the rest of the powers were given to the states. States can create laws but they could not violate the Constitution either. Hartman is incorrect on Jefferson and taxes. Jefferson opposed a federal direct tax. Now maybe he supported a progressive tax locally, but not federally. Less than 2 minutes in and Hartmann is already proving he is lost.

  3. Less than 2 minutes in Hartmann is wrong on the Constitution and Jefferson. The Constitution was there to limit government. It gave the duties for the federal government where the federal government was not supposed to reach outside of those duties. The states were given powers but they had to work within the frame of the Constitution. On Jefferson, Jefferson opposed direct taxation at the federal level which is why it was unconstitutional. He never points to a source for that Jefferson claim. Hartmann went on to tell this guy to google himself and slavery as if what he says is credible. I could not get 4 minutes in this video without stopping. Hartmann has to be an idiot.
