Having low paid workers buying extra liters of soda does not grow the economy.  What grows the economy is investment.  When the rich invest in stocks or when others save in banks that money just doesn't sit there.  Stocks are used to invest in a business to grow it creating jobs and more wealth.  Banks use money to loan out to people to buy homes, go to college or start a business. That is what grows the economy, not someone buying more bread. Also, the poor typically won't go to a local store but instead to a place like Walmart with lower prices. They have lower prices because they have shareholders who invest in the  business.

To answer Kyle's question, the government is flawed in that politicians are people seeking power.  The less power we can give them the better.  We need society to take care of problems in our country and the federal government to deal with foreign issues.  Kyle has no problem expanding the federal government but when it causes problems then he complains about it.  Fact is that you can't have it both ways.

  6. This is based only on the voters of those state. That means the citizens of Vermont approve of Bernie, but not the country. Also, Patrick Leahy is on the top 10. There are some connections between senators with high approval ratings coming from small states, that are mostly white, and with low crime. As a whole, though, there is not much to take from this poll.

  7. In the US people do not want to see their taxes triple. To pay for Bernie's plan you have to triple people's taxes. Ted Cruz brought that up in the debate against Bernie and Bernie himself did not deny it. Even at that Bernie had no real definitive tax plan as it was very vague so many sources, both left and right, and even moderate showed that Bernie's plan will be expensive and will require higher taxes on everyone. In the US our society does not want higher taxes. We are a society that is, for the most part, strongly independent from the government and will hate the major changes (like a major tax increase). Thus they will vote against it, especially considering his plan would not have improved the US at all.

  9. override367 No where in the constitution is healthcare listed. It is just like education, it isn't listed in the constitution thus it defaults to the states via the 10th amendment. Bush didn't bomb anyone with congressional power, Bush had approval from Congress to go to war. FDR did the largest expansion of power of the federal government ever in this country's history and it is no wonder we suffered from the slowest recovery ever following a recession. Obama has pushed for the expansion of the federal government along with Sanders.

  13. boggisthecat, my point is that life and the ecosystem evolves. I love how the ultra left criticizes the right for being "anti-science" when in reality they are selective science. The ultra left picks and choose what science they want to use. A driving force of evolution is climate change and changes in the atmosphere. To think that the ecosystem won't evolve is being selective in what you support. You should stop reading blogs by ignoramuses and liars. Read about how life evolved alongside the changes in the climate on Earth. The ecosystem is complex. We do not even know the physical mechanism for photosynthesis for example. http://www.nature.com/nature/journal/v446/n7137/abs/nature05678.html There is a good paper to start on the issue of that. I pick it because it is in line with my research (ultrafast spectroscopy). I do not do in depth research on photosynthesis, my friend does. But he cites this paper in his work and I converse with him about it. But what it shows is the complexity of organisms and how we know very little about it. So jumping to conclusion on the issue is not a wise thing to do in science. This is why Bill Nye is the only "scientist" the left can get to talk about it.

Plus, around 5.5 million of those people are either 14 and under or 65 and older, people who don't work. Plus, out of the remaining 14 million who many of them work as well? You have to factor that in as well.

On corporate taxes, first off I support 0 federal corporate taxes just like I support 0 federal income taxes. We should go back to the system of only taxing the states. But I digress, they paid no taxes because of the law and how it is written to have write offs for tax breaks.   20. Jonathan Man Having community colleges is what makes our system great. If you were not able to learn what you need to learn at high school for whatever reason, you have the ability to learn it at the JC level.  Also, there are athletes that are able to attend college when without athletics they wouldn't be able too  It creates diversity and opportunity.

  22. MrInuhanyou123 I have never seen Kyle debate anyone.  But the fact that he made up that childish excuse to refuse to debate Crowder reveals his true colors. I can very easily say Kyle is anti-science, is an economic illiterate, and has an immature attitude on several issues, all of which are true.  But that would not be a reason to not debate someone.  You debate someone to try to spread information to others and try to change someone's mind. Seems like Kyle is scared.

  24. He didn't have a response. Even with the current tax rate on the rich we still won't be able to pay for college. But, that is his usual response of "attack the rich" or "millionaires and billionaires" or "big corporations". Really, that is his only response. That is why he didn't have a response. Watch all of his debates and videos on economics. Almost all of them are about the 1%, millionaires and billionaires, and big corporations. Occasionally he will talk about a "living wage", but that's it. I am kind of disappointed Bernie did not win because I was going to make the Bernie Sanders pull string doll that says those few phrases.

  26. Oli, Kyle lives in an echo chamber much like TYT does. They are failing as a whole and refuse to bring outsiders who disagree with them to debate them. Shapiro and Crowder actually debate and have discussion with people on the opposite side which earns respect. Fact is that at the rate Kyle is going his show will be almost done in a few years.

  27. Oli, after the Bernie vs Cruz debate it was clear that Cruz won. Cruz came prepared with data and facts and laid out the problems of Obamacare and how more government is not the answer. All Bernie did was speak about how he wants to give "affordable healthcare" to all but never lays out a plan. After that debate Kyle could not admit that Bernie lost. He said Cruz lied but never said where and how. Fact is that Kyle will not do well in a debate against Shapiro. Maybe against Crowder because Crowder is a "comedian", but Shapiro actually knows what he is talking about.

But if you want to see flaws with Kyle he has said many times that there isn't an argument against the min. wage when in reality there is. That and he is also a Bernie Sanders supporter.

They Have A Cavetroll A lot of people do not go to college.  If you make it "free" more will go.  For example, a lot of university workers are able to go to college for free.  They get a degree on the side.  Typically not a high demanding one but will get a business degree just for fun.  At that point you are increasing demand.

What you are saying is that the government can make that determination when they can't. If they did and were honest about it than it will reveal that women are less productive, as a whole, than men. In statistics there is a limit in range size. With my line of work I push for a 5% or less error.   44. The 8th amendment "Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted." The key word is punishment, they are not punishing anyone here, they are torturing instead.  Torture can be cruel, it can be unusual, but it isn't being used as punishment thus it is legal.  Even if there is something morally wrong here or it doesn't work it isn't unconstitutional.  Kyle needs to read that 8th amendment again.

  45. Traian, the UN charter of rights contradict itself. It also says that everyone has a right to holidays of with pay and leisure time (Article 24). So come a major holiday and people need healthcare then something has to give. Either those people lose that right to healthcare or those doctors lose their rights to holidays off.

  48. This does not violate the constitution at all. Nowhere in the constitution does it say that abortion is a right. You may point to a SC ruling, but the SC also ruled in favor of Kelo vs. New City of London, it is safe to say that the SC has been wrong in the past. Kyle clearly lacks understanding of government in the US. You can't ban guns because there is an amendment that directly prevents that. As far as women's rights are concern, name me one right that men have and women don't.

  49. Fossil fuels are still the best source of energy we have. We should move towards "green energy" but we have to let it happen gradually. We can't force it as there are many workers that still depend on fossil fuels, and at the industrial level fossil fuels is necessary. Calling "green economy" the next gold rush is false as the gold rush was a get quick rich scheme where many people failed as they did not strike gold. Green energy takes much more time and will benefit a lot more people, but it has to come gradually.

This guy is an expert in electron tunneling in semiconductors, he has never published or even studied climatology in his life. If he said you can catch herpes from eating margarine would you believe him, simply because he's a Nobel laureate? People seem to have this belief that as soon as someone wins a Nobel prize he must be an expert in every branch of science he's never studied, and I don't know where they get that idea." What he did there was completely avoid discussion on the topic by pulling a logical fallacy. He criticized Steven Crowder for not wanting to debate him but when he is pressed himself he dodges the topic. While he does present many peer reviewed references in the end the issues with climate change are 1. How much is man playing a role? 2. Is it even bad? The references potholer54 gives don't even give definitive answers to those questions as you will be hard pressed to find a scientist to give definitive answers to those questions. potholer54 has become an annoyance in Youtube because alarmists are praising him when he, himself is not really an alarmist. But he rarely calls them out and goes after people he perceives to be deniers who are a dying breed at this point. Almost everyone accepts climate change and accepts that many is playing a role. In 1994 Herman Cain and Bill Clinton had a discussion on healthcare. During that discussion both Cain and Clinton ran through numbers. Clinton had his numbers, was respectful and at the very least pretended to seem to care about Cain's business. Even though I agreed with Cain in the end Clinton had an approach I can respect. During the Cruz vs Sanders debate Sanders was approach with a similar question from a hair salon owner. Sanders' response was simply "screw you, pay up". He showed no concern for the business owner nor had any facts or data to back up his ides. The fact that guy won states in the primaries is scary for the democrats. At this point he is not going away and the democrats need to just give it up in 2020 and run him so he can get beat, badly, to Trump showing people that no one wants socialism and then push for a more moderate candidate in 2024. Essentially, Bernie set the democrats 8 years. "At least Bernie understands what the word "consensus" means - How well do you think Trump understands science?? Or really anything for that mater?" Trump is a very intelligent individual. You don't have that much success in the private sector without being intelligent. People who view him as incompetent are projecting. He understands what he is doing. As far as the "consensus" is concerned that has been debunked long ago. It was based on selected publications with vague interpretations. But again, none of them are saying that climate change is a major threat to our planet. Bernie is making that claim, scientists aren't. " Trump was GIVEN $300 Million and is now over 1 BILLION in debt to Wall-street and couldn't find his way out of a paper-bag with out assistance from his wanton hoard of non-scientific and selfishly-motivated "Yes-Men" and WILL likely be going to jail." Trump is not in debt. "There is actual, real, tenable, verifiable evidence for you to learn, if you could just come off you high-horse and have a look around - even if just a little." I have seen the evidence.
