@denetherus959 online education is a joke. A part of education is interacting with others. I know far leftists feel education is simply reading books and taking tests. That was proven through their support of "tuition free college". But there is way more to education than that. At the lower levels a huge part is interaction with others. An online education will deprive kids of a lot of what education is apart. Also, at high school consider the seniors losing out on their senior year of sports. Rent cancellation and a UBI will create massive inflation. Many landlords will simply go bankrupt where banks would take over the property, and I know how leftists feel about banks. Reading the rest of your comment you are trying to use this situation to push for communism. Also, I thought schools were dangerous to begin with prior to the virus due to all the shootings.

@Lugmillord you do know that many leaders in the past have literally killed their own citizens for power. This isn't unheard of. Have you never studied any kind of history? Also, I have had many people close to me die for many reasons. Death is a part of life.

@michelleburkholder2547 Trump did not send them. It is a federal courthouse and the protestors were violent. It was going on for over a month, plenty of time for local officials to act. They didn't. The DHS was more or less in charge of sending them .

You also have to consider the US is like 50 nations in one. Some states did poorly such as NY and NJ. Others did great. Germany has around 109 deaths per million. Texas has around 113 deaths per million. Also, it comes down to culture. According to Hofstede Cultural Dimension the US is willing to take more risks compared to Germany. On uncertainty avoidance Germany scores at a 65, US scores at a 46. So you have to factor all that in.

@gjkkhfdsdfjkvfhjk8718 many things went wrong in individual states, but now we are doing fine. According to John Hopkins in March around 24% tests came back positive, now it is around 8%. So yes ,we are testing more but with a lower percentage of positive results. If you are talking about Trump''s response I will say it was fine. He did what he was supposed to do, let the states handle it. Some did poorly others did great. GA opened up first, is reaching their peak now, and deaths have not gone up. No one talks about that. They talk about how FL and TX are seeing record cases but deaths are still low.

@colleenv5040 not rising by much. Still under 1000 a day, and that is with our states in the top three in population seeing high cases. NY was seeing over 900 deaths a day. As for long term effects, they are very rare and occur with people with other conditions.

@roxef the value of college is that it is an investment an adult makes. You are showing employers you are willing to make personal investments to better yourself and accomplish a long term goal. The concept of instruction and tutoring is not the main value in college. Most of what is taught in college can be self taught. Go to the public library and do it. Really no different at that point. People who push for "tuition free college" fail to understand the actual value of college.

It is true. This virus is simply an attempt to try to beat Trump. Mark my word, after the election this virus will not be discussed about any more. Either Trump wins and the media has to find a way to remove Trump, or Biden will win and to make him look good they will reopen the economy. Also, recent news is that the vaccine could come soon. The two dates I read were either in October or December. Think about that.

Than it switched to just cases as the death rate dropped. Now they are going back to death as states like FL, CA and TX are seeing record deaths. However, their numbers are in the 100s, NY was seeing over 900 a day. Consider how those three states have the highest population. So yes, it is now about beating Trump. That is why Trump is not holding these rallies. He is showing people this virus is not that dangerous. He attracts more voters while Biden hides.

Also, early on every nation did something as it was not known how bad this virus was. It is showing to not be that dangerous. With the media it was first deaths, showing pictures of mass graves and lines of temporary morgues in NYC (who completely mismanaged the situation). Now it is only cases. Very little mention of deaths. The recovery rate continues to rise and deaths are still low despite record number of cases. If states like FL and TX start seeing over 900 deaths a day like NY was, or even 500 deaths a day, then we can talk. Also, as I predicted, FL, GA, AZ and other states are now starting to flat line or see drops in cases as they reached their peaks.
