I find it funny because when climate alarmists say climate change is a threat I call them evolution deniers because apparently they feel the ecosystem won't evolve. When I say that what they respond with is amazing. The responses I get are made up.

Ok, how do you fix it?
1
@mrjollyguy25 , ok, how? How do you make renewable energy efficient enough? And how do you implement it without destroying the economy?
1
@mrjollyguy25 , also, if we go to renewable energy and nothing improves, then what?
1
@zidneya , minimize it to what? I need details.
1
@mrjollyguy25 , retrain which workers? How do you retrain them? What if they refuse? You know, people in their 40s don't have the desire to be retrained. So tax fossil fuels making energy prices more expensive for others? What studies?
1
@mrjollyguy25 , science doesn't prove anything. And you claim to have critical thinking skills?
1
@mrjollyguy25 , so no peer reviewed study? Also, making fossil fuels expensive hurts poor people. Why do you hate the poor? And no, people won't have the desire to be retrained even if it were for more money. If that was the case why aren't more people attending college? The cost of not making a drastic switch looks better economically.
1
@zidneya , ok, care to be more specific?
1
@mrjollyguy25 , I see no academic sources. I see special interest groups. I don't deny scientists, I just understand that going completely to renewable energy like you want too is foolish and impossible. It is not efficient yet. It does hurt poor people as they don't have the money to switch. They will still buy gas cars which are cheaper. College is not that expensive. And in order to make renewable energy more efficient it requires more research, not just building it. Have you ever done any research on this topic outside of special interest groups? Also, to transport those solar panels and wind mills you need......wait for it......trucks ran by diesel engines. It requires a lot of fossil fuels. You also have to change the grid to store it, transport it, convert it, etc. It isn't as easy as you make it out to be.
1
@mrjollyguy25 , also, what is the name of that Stanford scientist? I am not finding it.
1
@mrjollyguy25 , you can't just make alternative fuel cheaper. It is expensive because of the low efficiency and limited resources. Also, asking a nation of 320+ million people to change their ways, and asking our industry to change their ways is not easy. This is something you have to allow happen gradually. I personally won't buy a new car because I can't afford it. I will use my gas power one. An electric engine won't work in the mountains. Also, there are criticism towards Mark https://www.forbes.com/sites/jamesconca/2017/12/12/stanfords-100-renewables-a-roadmap-to-nowhere/#6d8d568a7e25
1
@vexedaslin , college is not that expensive. Go to a cheaper community college. Don't go to an expensive one. I paid $10,000 a semester for my college education and that included summer courses and earning two degrees.
1
@vexedaslin , considering the position I am in now it is worth it.
1
@mrjollyguy25 , we have started now. So what's your point? Many small towns are on renewable energy already.
1
@mrjollyguy25 , republicans don't deny the problem.
1
Phillip Lorke, climate change is real, it has been happening or over 4 billion years. The OP even said it is real.
1
@edwuncleriii1922 , Zidneya will just call you a denier like a typical far leftist.
1
@JAYE94611 , lack of control burns contributed as well. We say many times of drought in this world.
1
@mrjollyguy25 , we do impact the climate. Now the issue is how much, as is it even bad?
1
@zidneya , you don't understand science. 5 Kelvin over a span of 80 years is a long time in my opinion. What makes you think the ecosystem won't evolve? I choose Kelvin because that is the accurate way to report temperature change as it is based on the absolute zero scale.
1
@zidneya , wildfires are the result of lack of control burns and an increase in population. Tell me, why do you deny evolution? Also, it would be foolish of me to deny science considering I am a scientist myself.
1
@JAYE94611 , many midwestern places grow the food we eat as well. Also, there have been droughts all throughout history. Talking to people from CA they blame the lack of forest management for these fires, not climate change.
1
@JAYE94611 . Oregon has been in a drought as well with no major fires.
1
@JakXLT , there is not rate of evolution as it happens in various ways. Evolution is not well known which is why you won't find a "rate" attached to it. Like most issues in science it is complex.
1
@zidneya , so people are going to die despite our advancements in technology?
1
@JAYE94611 , ok, and? That's one. CA has been experiencing a lot of fires lately due to lack of control burns.
1
@JAYE94611 , they are people from CA. There is plenty of arguments to be made that forest management did not do their job. You keep blaming everything on climate change which is why people are so skeptical. And if climate change caused the area to be so dry than that is on the people of CA to adjust for that. I have seen miles of dead fields in CA. You need to adjust to that. I was in Butte County 6 weeks ago. It was 90 degrees. I was by Butte College. I know what it is like there.
1
@JAYE94611 , CA is a poorly managed state, that is the reality. You charge 10 cents for plastic bags and who knows where the money goes. Talking to people it was supposed to go to the parks but that did not pass. Talking to people from Sacramento they say CA is so corrupt and mess up they see no reason to vote nor do they understand the logic behind what the state does.
1
@JAYE94611 , 90 degrees during that time is not weird. I am sorry, but when you keep blaming everything on climate change I cannot take your seriously. Change happens, adapt or die. It is that simple.
1
@JAYE94611 , climate change has been happening for over 4 billion years. Adapt, that is the answer. Also, why is CA the one state being harmed the most by this? It seems like other states are doing fine. Is CA a special case?
1
9 degrees Fahrenheit is not that much. It is around 5 degrees Celsius or 5 Kelvin. Also, you can't make wild predictions like that because we don't know how the ecosystem will evolve. But whatever, the far left does not want to listen to any counter arguments. To them anyone who disagrees with them are a "climate change denier", a nice phrase to silence the opposition even though it is not true.
1
@Ku rwa , 5 Kelvin over 80 years is a long time. That is around 1 Kelvin over 13 years. You say "degree", what unit do you mean?
1
@Ku rwa , the type of scale matters. I am skeptical of someone who does not say what scale.
1
@Ku rwa , time does matter as the ecosystem can evolve.
1
@Ku rwa , the ecosystem will evolve, that is the point.
1
@mezzaninex , worked for thousands of years in the past
1
I don't deny climate change, I just accept that science is very complex. A 5 Kelvin change in temperature in 80 years is not much to me. The ecosystem has evolved through many changes in the past.
1
@darren871 , exactly. They say "climate change denier" because they have no argument and just want to silence the opposition. Most on the right say the climate is changing, they are not denying anything.
