Churches are designed for public speaking. That is why they held it there. Nothing wrong with it.

Separation of church and state means the government cannot establish a religion. Churches are designed to hold public speaking events so they are idle for this. It actually saves the government money so they do not have to build a place to hold these events.

I haven't heard a JD update in a while. I guess they are dying out.

Bush ran in 2016 and got stomped against Kander. She isn't new. She will be going against William Clay. I am from MO, many people like him, including me to some degree (as a moderate that leans right I feel he has not gone off the deep end yet). She has no chance of winning.

The current system we have is no better than single payer. Going to single payer means completely replacing the system we have which will lead to job loss and a recession, both of which hurts people (such as the middle class). So it is best to improve on what we have.

Single payer is not any better than what the US has. Just because other countries "seem to be alright with it" does not mean it is the best method to push for.

To improve I suggest doing away with the payroll tax. That way businesses will pay with a higher wage as opposed to paying with insurance. People can buy their own insurance getting a plan that suits them and having companies compete.

"This is clearly bullshit: healthcare is a necessity, not a luxury," Depends. Voluntary knee surgery is a luxury for example. If you have more money you will be willing to spend more on what others consider to be frivolous things. " It ignores the money wasted as inefficiency in the US labour market due to employees not wanting to leave their old job until they've secured a new one with health insurance. " That is a problem as to why is healthcare insurance tied to employment? To me it comes down to the payroll tax. "that because no healthcare system is perfect, the US's is of comparable quality to other nations'. It suggests that the number of uninsured Americans is "relatively small", despite that it is zero for other developed nations." But the outcomes in other nations is the same. Just because everyone is "covered" does not mean the quality or outcomes are high.

I am glad you read the book though and did not pull a logical fallacy like others have. I will admit that few people, including those sources bring up the issue of employment and healthcare insurance being attached which to me is the biggest problem.

Defense spending is around 4% of GDP. Healthcare is around 17%.
1
Defense spending is 16% of the federal budget. Read my comment again. I said 4% of GDP, the total economy of the US.

Religion is not being taught there. No religious group is gaining money so it does not violate the 1st amendment.

Learn what "separation of church and state" really means.

YoCatto, I saw the video. Do I agree with their action? Not completely. But at the same time nothing was violated constitutionally. As a whole this is a stretch. But let us break it down. 1. On the hats, just remove it. Is it dumb? A little. Churches give up their buildings so people should respect them. 2. You can't be loud and unruly in town halls. You have to remain civil. If not then you will be removed. Remaining civil includes not cursing. Town halls are there to have civil discussions. 3. TYT shows the arrest but does not show how they were acting before hand. Not taking sides here, just wanting to have more information that I doubt TYT will give. But as a whole, in town halls you should remain civil. And in the place you are at you should follow their rules. If the church wants the hats removed and no cussing than that is they way it is. I work semi-pro football as an official. A local school donated their field to the team to play on. A rule is that they are not allowed to cuss (grown men playing football with no cussing, not the easiest to enforce). It happens but we try to limit the f-bombs. If not that team will lose the ability to play on that field. You have to follow the rules of the establishment that offers their place up. Final verdict: I see nothing wrong here in what those cops did.
