Kind of a loser. Clearly she needs to find something productive to do in society. She has the freedom to do that on her driver license and she also has to freedom to look like a fool. Seriously, I have met middle school age individuals act more mature. Anyone supporting her actions is just as immature.

manowar821 No my feelings aren't hurt, why would they be? She was clearly doing this to gain attention and really showed her lack of maturity. Simply put, if I were an employer and saw this I wouldn't hire her since in my mind she doesn't have the maturity to work for me.

Borgeeze Q There is a difference between expressing your beliefs and just being immature. Certain jobs also require that a person doesn't act a certain way. For example having tattoos can prevent one from moving up in a job even if the tattoos are for religious reasons.

Borgeeze Q Yes it is within her right to do that and I won't deny her of that. But if someone discriminates against here because of her actions that is within their rights as well. And if an employer finds that her actions are immature and they don't want that particular person working in their company then that is the consequences she would have to face. I work for a job where I have to be careful on what gets out about me on social media. If the wrong picture gets put out about me then I am out of the job. It doesn't have to be that bad of a picture, a picture where I am wearing the wrong colors or wrong logos could cause me to lose my job. I understand what she was doing, it was just immature and she should be spending her time worrying about something more productive in life.

Borgeeze Q I get paid quite well and I enjoy my job.

manowar821 I am not butt hurt. I have no problem with people expressing their religious beliefs. Personally I just ignore it an move on like any mature individual would do. I have more important things to worry about because honestly I am not a loser. This woman is simply doing this to gain attention and that is it. She was being immature with her actions. If she legitimately practiced that religion and wore a strainer on her head during her waking hours of her life then fine, I have no problem with it. There was nothing clever or funny about this though. She was doing it to simply draw attention. This is a reason why I get just as annoyed with the atheist crowd as with the religious crowd, because of actions like this.

***** I understand why she took the picture, and I am not evading the subject, I am just saying she was being immature with her actions. If she has a problem with religion than so what, ignore religious people and move on. I have a problem with obese people, I don't go around finding ways to shame them, I just simply ignore them. Seriously, if someone's religion is the worst thing to happen to you in your life than you have lived a really good life. There are people out there with cancer or little money with no jobs and her goal in life was to have this picture taken, very pathetic on her part.

Borgeeze Q Religion doesn't cause problems, people cause problems. We have seen individuals beat and behead people over a sporting event, should we ban sports as well? To blame religion on problems is shallow. My biggest worries are not colors or logos. I was just saying that certain places of employment have standards. Usually the ones with the highest standards pay more and are more professional and mature. This lady, with her actions, will have a hard time reaching those standards. You last part doesn't make much sense. You just went on a rant about cancer and being homeless.

Borgeeze Q People cause problems due to emotions and ignorance. It isn't religion that causes it. If there were no religion in the world we will still have problems, that is the way life is. As I shown with my example in sports, there will always be problems due to individuals being ignorant, or being on a power trip, or over resources or who knows what. My rant on jobless and cancer people is that there are people out there who have to deal with bigger issues in life than worrying about religion. Here we have a woman whose life is so good that she has the time to think about doing as stunt like this. As I said, if someone else's religion is a problem to you than you live a really good life. Others use religion to cope with some of their problems, nothing wrong with that. Working that high paying job that I enjoy doing and working with those standards is important to me because it is my life. I worked hard to get there. Not everyone has to pursue that though. I am just saying that this woman did commit an act that would prevent her from getting a better paying job. It goes back to something I have said before, people usually don't move up in the world or get paid more for a reason, it is for their actions. I know what goes on in the world and that is why this annoys me so much. This woman has little to no other problems in the world so she just acts like a child. If she had to deal with actual problems (as in cancer or not having a job) or had actual responsibilities (like ones tied into a high paying job) in life than she wouldn't be acting like this.

manowar821 She could have sent that message in a more mature manner. There are religious people who do some of the things you describe, but acting like a child in response to it doesn't solve anything. Arguing and acting like children doesn't get us anywhere.
1
manowar821 Yes it is being childish. Calling someone names and having no justification for why you disagree with them is childish. I bet you listen to Kyle a lot, he does the exact same thing.
1
manowar821 So we base our argument on calling people out. Ok, you are an idiot. Do I need justification for that, no. I can just say it and it make it true according to you. You see the flaws in your argument?

plplplplomg How is religion ridiculous? I am not religious myself but I would never say it is ridiculous.

manowar821 You are a child.

plplplplomg It does sound foolish but at the same time there are limitations in what man knows and man will never know everything. There are certain questions that we may never find the answers too. Questions as in what happens to us when we die? Does free will exist? Why do we feel emotion and pain? What is the purpose of life? And so on. If someone wants to establish a religious belief to make them feel good about certain questions then why should I, or anyone else take that away from them. There are people with OCD that feel good only if they do a certain action or have something set up in a certain way. We don't ridicule them. There is nothing wrong with a religious belief as long as you don't take it to the extreme.

plplplplomg People use religion for relief. Other people use other sources of median for relief to cope with stress in life, or death, or sickness or hard times. I like to go for a long jog when I am stress or in other cases I drink a bottle of bourbon. Others smoke. Other go target shooting. Others just meditate or smoke weed or workout. Other pray to their god. So what. Why should we take that away from people? I am not saying your belief is correct or not and the same is with religion, their believes are neither correct nor incorrect. I myself am a doubter. I don't believe in anything. I doubt everything because I can't take myself to believe in something that might be wrong. I don't see religion as foolish, religion is just not for me. There are foolish people who are religious but religion itself is not foolish.
1
plplplplomg Not really. Religion isn't old. In the past people used a lot more than just religion to explain natural phenomena. If you look at light for instance a new material called Aether was created to describe light. Darwin was pretty much making things up when he came up with his ideas. Religion is about faith. A lot of the big ideas of religion are faith based and exist for that reason. While we have developed a lot of theories to predict natural phenomena there is a role for religion to play.
