  2.  @Agentmax5000  we are not fully open, nowhere close. Restaurants cannot profit off of 25% capacity so millions are still out of work. Also, the economy does not have to tank, not to this degree. We make decisions in life all the time that go as far as to leading to people dying, but we still allow it as any, radical alternative will destroy the economy and millions of lives. Take driving for example. The economic and psychological damage done from these lock downs exceed any damage the virus would have done at this point. Even those at risk, nursing home patients, are saying they rather die from covid than be alone. Life is more than just a heart beat. As for the case numbers going up, it is people are done. They do not care. When the narrative changes everyday and that narrative is fear mongering all the way, people just say "screw it". Because if the virus is not going away as Fauci said, if things are not getting better as the media says, than what we are doing with the lock downs are pointless. Thus people are going to live life.

Great leaders understand that panicking is the most contagious thing ever. The leader panics all panic and the issue becomes worse. Other nations are seeing a second spike larger than their first, nations like the UK, France, Italy, Spain, etc. People are done with this virus. The CDC released a report entitled "Excess Deaths Associated with COVID-19, by Age and Race and Ethnicity — United States, January 26–October 3, 2020" they say "Although more excess deaths have occurred among older age groups, relative to past years, adults aged 25–44 years have experienced the largest average percentage increase in the number of deaths from all causes from late January through October 3, 2020. The age distribution of COVID-19 deaths shifted toward younger age groups from May through August (9); however, these disproportionate increases might also be related to underlying trends in other causes of death." That age range makes up 3% of the population. So what are they dying from? Substance abuse, suicides, depression, etc. So while we save grandma so she can live 2 more months, people with decades of life in front of them are dying due to the economic and psychological damage from these lock downs. And you can blame Trump, but why is NY still refusing to open up? Same with NJ, CA, ,etc. Newsome just placed restrictions on Thanksgiving gatherings despite CA seeing low cases and deaths. Why? People are done because the entire narrative has been nothing but fear mongering. First it was deaths, then it was "don't open up too soon", then it was only cases as deaths are still low. Now it is "wear masks" even though deaths are still low. Nursing home patients are saying they rather die from covid than be alone. Life is dangerous, people know that. This virus was pushed to make people's lives miserable to try to make Trump look bad. We have had a handle on this virus for months now. Deaths are low. Why are we still under lock down? "no sense left denying what the scientists and doctors are telling us." There are doctors out there saying this virus is not that dangerous. Even the CDC contradicts themselves. Sorry, but when the only "doctors" given media attention are fear mongering propagandists like Fauci people stop listening.

  8. Scientists disagree on this issue. In fact, some say it is not that dangerous. The economic and psychological damaged caused by the lock downs are arguably worse than this virus ever would have been. Consider the large spike of excess deaths of people 25-44. It wasn't from the virus, they make up only around 3% of "virus deaths". On climate change, there is a lot of doubt on that as well. That is why the left listens to a bartender on it as opposed to scientists.

  9.  @FalconFlyer75  what makes you say that? The point of the lock downs were to keep hospitalizations and deaths low. We have accomplished that. Noticed how the narrative is not longer about deaths but cases? Because cases do not matter if deaths are low, which they are compared to months ago. Government support would not have solved psychological damage. People became depressed and abused substances due to losing their job, their activities, the ability to socialize with others, etc. We are seeing it now in nursing homes where patients are saying they rather die from the virus than be alone. Just sending people a check is not a solution. Eventually people want to interac, which they are now. They do not care. "and also the VAST majority of scientists support climate change " All do. The questions with climate change are, one, is it even a threat, two, how much does man play a role, and three, if it is a threat, what do we do? That is not me saying it but scientists like Mike Hulme. I recommend you read his book "Why We Disagree About Climate Change" Good book. "the only people listening to bartenders are the ones to deny it" So the people who listen to AOC?

  10.  @FalconFlyer75  they are. We were over 2000 in March and April. Now, despite around double the cases, we have less than 1000 deaths a day. And again, the deaths are overstated to begin with. What is your standard?

We can't just stay locked down as people are now suffering because of it. Where that age group makes up only 3% of "covid deaths". So what are they dying from? Most likely from suicides, substance abuse, depression, stress, etc. And if you look at Figure 3, their excess death rate has been consistently around 40% for 6 months where others saw a spike and a decline. So the lock downs are, arguably, causing more problems. At some point we have to realize the lock downs are doing more economic, psychological and physical harm than the virus will ever come close to. 1. Why where a mask when there are no gatherings? Being asked to wear a mask when no one is around is pointless. Plus, you can't just create laws, it takes congress to do that. Why do you want to give governors that much unchecked powers? 2. How is doing that? 3. Most who are sick do not even know 4. This virus is not that deadly. No deadlier than the severe flu which happens a lot. Saying it is "common sense" is not an argument because there are valid points on both sides.

  12. Most people no longer care about this virus. People have sacrificed enough already. Being "alive" is not living in lock down. Nursing home patients are saying they rather die from covid than be alone. People want to live life. More people will tolerate masks if our nation was completely opened. Instead, many places cannot have indoor dining, but we still have to wear a masks? It also doesn't help that the story and standards changes everyday. People are done. That is why Trump has such large rallies. That is why people are gathering now. Life is dangerous, get a helmet.

  13. We are not going to control it. What he said is true, it is contagious. This virus is very contagious. However, it is also not that deadly. With the lock downs it is causing economic and psychological damage that will be much worse than this virus would have ever done. There are nursing home patients that rather die from covid than be alone. Even with high cases deaths are still below 1000 a day. We need to get back to normal.
