I can give examples if you want but the best thing that can happen in this nation is Bernie running against Trump and getting destroyed. That would kill the far left (like Kyle) and create more moderates in the left wing.

@natek987 , saying a law will bring us to the dark ages is making a statement, not a question. It also sets a very negative tone that does not push for actual truth seeking but simply to smear. Say someone were to ask Bernie this "Why do you push you M4A law that forced insurance companies to close down resulting in people losing their jobs forcing them to move and find new jobs which is fascist?" Is that a legit question to ask? Or is it legit to frame it that way?

Shapiro dropped the ball here. Neil gave asinine questions that Shapiro could have easily tore apart, but he didn't. Wasn't Shapiro's best performance, but Neil was terrible here.

He is intelligent. His appeal is not only that but the fact he steps out of his echo chamber (unlike Kyle) and engages in discussions with other people. This was not his best showing. But also Neil was terrible as well. Saying a law was going to take us to the dark ages is setting a negative tone and is not looking for truth. Ben should have attacked that but didn't. On your example, there are ideas on the right. The reality is that those issues are complex. Healthcare, education, etc. are complex and that there is no one simple solution. Screaming "medicare for all" or "free college" is not an idea in my opinion. The left claims to have ideas but really they have talking points. But to say that the right has no ideas is simply not true. You are looking for a short answer on a complex issue. That is a problem in politics today. The left pushes talking points and than refuses to have discussions and then claims that the right has no ideas.

@1rony230 , I have no problem switching to renewable energy. I just feel the market with engineers and scientists are better adapt and pushing that as opposed to politicians who don't know what a garbage disposal is and who also have special interest.

walentaz , exactly. The whole green movement has become an excuse for politicians to gain more power. Look at AOC's GND, what does healthcare have to do with climate change? People are freaking out about climate change and pushing for radical change when the reality is that the science is hardly settled.

Eh, there is some. But again, what is the rate supposed to be? 4. Many areas have changed, what's your point? 5. I agree, but how? What is the best way? I feel that engineers in the market should work on that as opposed to politicians who don't know what a garbage disposal is

@dineskumarragu4187 , I also consider him to be an intellectual as he has impacted his field, but he isn't without flaws. Outside of his field he shows a high level of ignorance, especially on economic issues. He praised Venezuela until it went to crap. He cites opinion polls without understanding how flawed they are. Here called businesses coercive when businesses have never forced people to do anything, and so on. He sounds smart when he talks but in reality he is wrong or mistaken in what he says. Got any others?

That includes people like Kyle. Shapiro does as well. My support for Shapiro is that he is willing to go out and engage with other people and have discussions. But as a whole we lack intelligent discourse in this nation and it has led us to electing Trump. If the left wants to get rid of Trump start working with the right.

Uh, Kyle would not have done well. This "journalist" asked a terrible "question" (more of a statement) and it went down hill from there. The "journalist" was bias and had no desire to actually have a discussion here. Shapiro did drop the ball, but as a whole why bother with a guy like Neil?
