You really need to learn what money is. There is no such thing as a basic income.

Who cares what the majority wants? Set it up at your state. Not everyone wants it so don't force it down people's throat. This is also disturbing that so many people trust the federal government on running something as important as their healthcare considering how corrupt it is.

***** We don't have a federalist system. Where does most of the funding for roads, education, police force, etc. comes from? Who has control of most domestic laws? Also, nothing at the federal level is ever determined at the majority.

Ylze Tyr At the state level you have more of a voice and you can move and remain a US citizen, so no, it isn't be shoved down your throat And you don't trust a for profit company but you trust the federal government? I have said in the past that both extremes are not good. You fear private companies with no control or regulations just like I don't like a centralized government with no control over them. As I said in the past, the reason why the government is corrupted by these businesses is because the federal government has the power to be bought. You see, you are so set to develop the federal government into your government but those companies with more money have more power to set it up the way they like it. You complain but you developed a system where the federal government can change too easily. You don't like it when you force your government at the federal level down other's throats but have no problem doing it yourself. Other countries have for profit healthcare. Also, we are completely different than other countries. If you want socialized healthcare than either develop it in your state, or move to a country that has it. But don't use the federal government to shove something down my throat that I don't want and I won't do it to you, simple.

Ylze Tyr I refused the answer that question because you are diverting the conversation. What was being discussed was forcing private businesses to give out paid sick days and maternity leave. At that level the cost will be passed onto the consumers. Also, as with the higher min. wage Obama tried on federal employees, we saw fast food restaurants on military bases oppose because they were going to have to lay off workers and raise prices which is why there was a freeze on that with those businesses. So yes, there will be some instances will the cost will get passed onto the consumers with federal employees, on the others, it will come from higher taxes. But as a whole you shown your stupidity with that question in that you weren't following the conversation which is why I ignored it. I personally should stop entertaining your stupidity but I guess making you look like a fool no here brings me some good feeling.

***** Fast food places simply can't afford higher wages. One of the reasons why prices are going up is because of the min. wage. If you look at the full service restaurant and look at the unit labor cost you see that it has gone up close to 4%. That means the price of labor is outpacing productivity in that part of the market. The money has to come from somewhere. In states that have a higher min. wage than the federal min. wage we have seen and increase in teenage unemployment A higher min. wage means those with low skills, little experience, and little references will have a hard time getting a job. Typically that is the poor.

***** The money spent by congress that is given to the states is very small, and really is unconstitutional in itself but as a whole is a small part of the budget. Yes, state governments can be corrupt. At the state level you have a more powerful voice and policy can be changed easier and we see it a lot. Also, you have the option to move to another state and still be a US citizens.

Ylze Tyr At the state level you have a more powerful voice compared to the federal level. Think of how any members of congress you can vote for at the federal level. Now think of how many you can vote for at the state level. Also, at the state level you can move to another state and remain a US citizen. If you want medicare than set it up at your state. With that my tax dollars won't contribute to a program I don't want. Instead you want to force me to pay for taxes I don't agree with and I have little power in changing or avoiding. I have explained that before, you apparently can't read.

Ylze Tyr That politifact article is dealing with just Burger King, so once again you cherry picked. http://archive.militarytimes.com/article/20140317/NEWS/303170027/Some-fast-food-outlets-closing-military-bases http://archive.airforcetimes.com/article/20141006/NEWS/310060051/No-wage-hike-exemption-base-restaurants And no, the conversation on hand was about the government forcing sick leave and maternity leave on private businesses. You just diverted the conversation.

Ylze Tyr You are calling me selfish but yet you want to force me to pay higher taxes to pay for the government you want. Wow. Sorry that I actually worked hard and became successful. Sorry that part of that success came from helping others along the way that were less fortunate and I do it even more since I have more resources. Sorry that I don't like helping others in society that do little or don't pull their own weight or who are ungrateful. I tried to help out a friend one time. She was in terrible shape. She was addicted to heroin and doing tricks for drug money and living in a tiny motel. I tried to help her and she just ended up robbing me and continued to hang out with other shitheads. I stopped. She died a few years later I was told. I have seen several cases like that with the types of people I have been around and hung out with. I do offer help but more and more I realize that you can only do so much, there comes a point that the best situation is to let the die. One of my current best friend was in that bad of a shape and is doing great now. She actually worked. But I have seen many scumbags in our society that cheat, steal, lie, do drugs, vandalize and so on and have no motivation in getting better. You may call me greedy but the fact is I realize that those are the type of people holding us back, not the rich you are so jealous about.

***** I don't hate it, I hate it if the government forces businesses to give it out. The cost has to come from somewhere and usually comes from higher prices
