Bastiano Rossi Do you really think the federal government is going to pass legislation that will benefit the people as opposed to the politicians?

Alan Peters You wouldn't have 50 completely autonomous states, they will still have the constitution to follow. That is what unites us, the constitution and our ability to have protection from government. Big businesses want a big federal government, they want it in their favor. During the last recession it wasn't the free market that allowed wall street and the big banks to get bigger, it was the federal government. At the local and state level we can hold government and businesses more accountable, especially when we don't have the fed. to use on in domestic issues. There is a role for the federal government, but too much of it is just as bad as not having it.

Great point.

Actually Glenn Beck does give out a lot of info when he does his show. He points out where you can go to read what he read. He just doesn't read a few lines like Kyle suggest. There is a reason why Beck has #1 selling books and a multimillion dollar show where Kyle doesn't.

There is danger in net neutrality. Why does the government want to get involved in the internet? People have to think about this. This is a policy where the federal government has nothing to lose but the people do. I mean, I am not surprise a communist like Kyle supports it, but people should be opposed to net neutrality on the basis that we don't want the government controlling the internet.

DrunkVegan There is nothing wrong with the internet being owned by 5 corporations, the federal government shouldn't be involved at all with it.

Bastiano Rossi It is unnecessary paranoia. Whenever the federal government gets involved in something that it can use to gain in power one must always be cautious. Remember, N. Korea has strict internet regulations.

DrunkVegan Equal speeds? Ok. Sounds like a socialist way of running the internet. The internet has been advancing quit well, why slow it down?

Alan Peters There is a role for government. But just like no government is bad, too much government is just as bad. This isn't an issue that the federal government should be involved in since it is a domestic issue. Now if state governments want to do something for this I can accept it, but never the federal. Same goes with the auto industry and healthcare and food. Leave the federal government out of it. Basically what you are saying that we can't survive without the federal government which means they have power over us, not us having power over them. We need a government, but we need checks and balances over them.

Il Sinistero Better than the federal government controlling it.

Alan Peters We have continuity across the country, it is called the constitution. A reason why we have corporation running the government is because the federal government has power to be bought. Remove the power from the federal government than we wouldn't have this problem.
