There is data that suggests that there are more cases than what is reported and this virus is not that deadly.
6
They shouldn't. Around half the deaths are from NY, NJ and MA.
2
@kellog9876 almost every hospital is empty. You may count on one hand those that aren't in which those individuals areas can handle it such as transporting patients or maybe a mini shutdown. But no state should shut down anymore.
2
Nspnspker I am looking at the data and the data, and many experts, are saying this virus is not that deadly. So yes, I am willing to risk life like I always do. Next, on hospitals, I said there may be a few that are becoming over crowded, but that is on those local areas to handle it. We have to take this on with a scalpel now and push for herd immunity. You only bring up AZ but nowhere else.
2
@mckenzie.latham91 and if they are cooking the books, why are they having record cases? FL just had nearly 9000 cases today.
2
@Jim Johns people need to work for the economy to function. Do you think food magically gets on the shelves at stores?
2
Deaths are not going up, that was the goal. The goal was never to stop the spread but to alleviate deaths. Stop moving the goal posts.
2
That is the far left for you.
2
@stefanhoover9201 100% cases had lung damage? I doubt that. Also, more have died with pneumonia over the same time period. And a recent Penn State study gave a different viewpoint on the deaths on basically the virus is not lethal but more of it spreads fast. In all, deaths are down and this virus is not that dangerous. It is being pushed by the left to try to beat Trump. Come August when cases start to drop people will go back to normal.
2
@ZXD7250 Miami is dense with high tourism
1
@ZXD7250 we can debate that
1
We should follow what CHAZ/CHOP does. Last I heard there are zero cases in that nation.
1
Why? Your deaths are low.
1
@Rasdaan deaths are not going up despite rising cases. Now is not the time to shut down. We can take this on with a scalpel, but not an axe like we did at the beginning.
1
Because there are experts who disagree with him but get zero air time.
1
There are experts who feel we need to open up and that this virus is not that dangerous. But the media ignores those experts. I wonder why? Yes, cases are going up, but deaths aren't.
1
@Jim Johns Around half are in NY, NJ and MA. Nation wide deaths are low. Also, a recent study from Penn State came out giving another take on it. You can read a summary from Penn State News entitled "Initial COVID-19 infection rate may be 80 times greater than originally reported" It suggests there are way more cases than what is recorded. For example, in NY on March 30 there were around 68,000 cases reported. But based on this they could have had over 5 million. I feel that is the case as there is evidence of herd immunity there as well. Also, according to the CDC more have died with pneumonia over the same time period.
1
@andreav318 I said almost. There were reports that Houston has an issue but it was clarified yesterday that one, of those in ICU only 28% are for covid. Next, it is common to work near capacity. Finally, they have rooms they can convert to ICU. In all, there may be a handful, at best, of hospitals experiencing problems. Nothing to be alarmed about.
1
@mckenzie.latham91 still low death rates
1
@mckenzie.latham91 care to give evidence?
1
@mckenzie.latham91 yeah, none of those sources are reliable. Also, if that was the case those scientists and doctors working in those positions would be discredited. And deaths are still low. Around half the deaths are from MA, NY and NJ. Time we are approaching 15 straight days of less than 1000 deaths, a record. Time to push for herd immunity. As for medical staffers, wah. They have to do work. And on social media? Really? Like that is trustworthy. Just like the two "nurses" that blocked off traffic who weren't even nurses.
1
@mckenzie.latham91 you can do better than that.
1
Not true. Deaths are down. Despite rising cases deaths are not rising. We are approaching 15 straight days of less than 1000 deaths a day, a record.
1
@larswhitt1549 soon deaths will be rising? Cases have been rising since June 9th, 17 days now. Deaths are still low. We are on our way to 15 straight days of less than 1000 deaths, a new record. And you can count on one hand the number of hospitals who are near capacity. That is also deceptive as well. In Houston it had to be explained that it is normal to be near capacity of ICU, and that only 28% were for covid, and they had empty rooms they can make to be ICU if needed. Deaths are still not rising though. FL seen their cases, since June 4, go up around 400% while deaths are stagnant.
1
@limitisillusion7 I think it will come late October. Come August states like FL, TX, AZ, CA, etc. will see sharp declines in cases as they get herd immunity and we will reopen as a nation. That will drive the economy up.
1
@mathewkelly9968 low population density. Besides Melbourne no city is over 1000 per square mile.
1
@sujimtangerines that is Sweden. Also, they still did social distancing. In the US we are seeing states experiencing it with NY, NJ and MA. And there is long term immunity. No one has been reinfected. Read the Science article entitled "T cells found in coronavirus patients ‘bode well’ for long-term immunity"
1
@limitisillusion7 what will be their excuse though? That is the point. People will look at the data and see cases dropping quickly, and deaths never spiked. What narrative will the media have now? We saw a glimpse of it when states started to reopen and GA was going strong, and then the George Floyd situation started where the media talked about that. The media can only do so much.
1
@mathewkelly9968 it isn't about the price of shares. You can't consume what you don't produce. For the first time in my life I saw empty shelves at the store. It isn't like they magically get filled.
1
@mathewkelly9968 no, it does have to do with population density. This virus spreads fast, especially in crowds. Why do you think social distancing is a thing?
1
Why stop at a mask? Why not a hazmat suit? Why not an helmet?
1
It is not an issue.
1
We are witnessing this right now because deaths are not going up. Around half the deaths are from NY, NJ and MA. The average age is around 80 years old. The fact is that we face dangers all the time in life, this is just one more. People want to go back to life. If you are scared stay home. This has also become political in an effort to beat Trump. It won't work.
1
@spindoctor358 You are correct to a degree. Come August things will be back to normal and democrats will have nothing to beat Trump on. Can't hide Biden forever.
1
@spindoctor358 fans in the stands
1
@spindoctor358 packed stadiums, packed bars, no masks. Just back to normal.
1
You can't compare those two.
1
@stefanhoover9201 the idea was never to stop the spread but alleviate deaths. We have done that. Deaths are not going up and we are on our way to less than 1000 deaths again, that will be 15 straight days, a record since this all started. Also, time to push for herd immunity and get back to normal. At this rate I predict we will reach it come late July with no increases in deaths.
