@gaston6800 , exactly. Here is Bernie and his fan base saying he wants to pay for healthcare and college like the Scandinavian nations do. However, so do nations like Venezuela and Cuba. When you bring that up Bernie fans say "no, he does not want to do what Venezuela does but what the Scandinavian nations do". Ok, so when you bring up their system they deflect again. And they wonder why Bernie is struggling to beat Biden.

@Derfholm , you are not going to get an argument from these guys. I have been arguing with them for a long time and they just deflect or get emotional. Look at this video where Kyle talks about taxing the rich. He claimed that Fareed left out how much money the rich have in the US. However, he does not give a number that they actually have and give out numbers to compare to the Scandinavian nations. And he brings up wealth when a lot of wealth is not liquidated. Overall they have not actual arguments.

@official_awei , Bernie is a communist though. He supports a command economy like what was performed in East Germany and the Soviet Union. That is especially true in his support of the GND. As for violence, he fans and members of his staff have been making threats and Bernie does not dismiss them. Kyle just did a video where he said people are going to act in violence if Bernie does not win. Now Bernie himself is not calling for violence, so I am fair there. But when members of his staff are and he does not respond, that is an issue. It will be interesting to see how his fans act when he loses and what Bernie ends up saying.

@gaston6800 , exactly. They just throw around the phrase "wealth inequality" to appeal to emotions as if it is a bad thing. They fail to understand the complexity of it.

The issue isn't so much their policies but more of culture. Our culture will never accept higher level of taxation. That is why Bernie does not push to tax citizens higher but only the rich. So no, he doesn't want to copy those nations economy.

The issue is that places like Cuba and Venezuela have universal healthcare as well. Bernie praises the Scandinavian nations for those programs but ignore other nations with the same programs that are failures. Thus, there is way more to those programs then them just providing those social safety nets. He wants Scandinavian level of spending but not their tax system. He is cherry picking.

Kai Ishimura , you are missing the point. Bernie praises Scandinavian nations for their welfare systems and he said we need to be more like them. But he does not bring up their tax system. He cherry picks what he likes. So how is that any different than pointing to Cuba and Venezuela and how they are failures with the same government funded programs Bernie wants?

Kai Ishimura , to start, learn what wealth is. A lot of wealth is not liquidated, you can't just tax it. Wealth is complex. A lot of times it has value based on who owns it. So saying tax it is a very flawed argument. Also, Scandinavian nations have completely different cultures compared to the US, and are much smaller. So trying to copy them would be very flawed.

@gaston6800 , I provide facts to these guys all the time and they deny them. I have said this many times, at the very core on economic issues the political left bases their ideas on emotions and the political right bases their ideas on facts and logic. Not saying one side is better, we need both as facts and logic are important, but we are human. Issue is that Bernie fans are so far left they ignore facts and logic. Or if they use a fact they are deceptive and go on a strong, appeal to emotion rant. Listen to Kyle in this video. He talks about how X amount of people own X amount of wealth in this nation. He does not give a comparison to other nations nor does he actually understand what wealth even is and that inequality like that is not necessarily bad.

@official_awei , the GND is a command economy. He pushes for federal government job creation, he pushes for a larger federal min. wage, he wants demand how the infrastructure is built and so on. Just because you deny what Bernie wants does not change reality.
