Paying people to dig holes and fill them back up is not creating wealth nor a wise investment with money. Creating jobs is easy, creating wealth is hard.

Police and fire fighters are locally ran and funded and 70% of fire fighters are volunteer.

The issue is that many can interpret facts in numerous ways. Most issues are not black and white but very gray. That is why there are two sides to an issue.

Ok, you cut defense spending down to $0. That gives you around $800 billion. These programs will cost close to $4 trillion. Where you do get the rest of the money?
1
Mohamad107, we spend more on education than many of those same countries combine. Do you want to cut education as well?
1
ScootMagoot46, corporations cannot afford higher wages. This idea that they can is simply not true.

You are going to get nothing but excuses here. Reality is that people don't support socialism.
1
Schmidty, you are winning in districts you have no chance of winning the general. Also, the candidates you are pushing the most, like Brent Welder, are losing. Noticed that when you really push a candidate they lose?

Socialism isn't "government does things". As for the programs you listed Farmer bail out: I cannot comment on this one as I have not read much into it. Roads: Locally ran and funded Bridges: Locally ran and funded Police: Locally ran and funded Fire dept: Locally ran and funded where 70% of fire fighters are volunteer Libraries: Locally ran and funded Schools: locally ran and funded Post office: Constitutional GI Bill and Military: Constitutional Social Security: running out of money Medicare: Running out of money And just because they are popular does not mean they are a good system. Slavery was popular at one point in our nation. Pointing to programs that are locally ran and funded and are small in costs overall to justify expanding the federal government is not an argument.

If the majority of Americans wanted to prevent women from voting would you feel we should allow that? Just because the majority supports something does not mean they are good policies. Also, polls are unreliable. You are asking vague questions on complex issues to people who are not knowledgeable on them.

Kyle needs to stop pointing to polls. They are not reliable. Last night's election shows that.
1
So popular that politicians that run on them are winning like Brent Welder!
1
But your progressive candidates are losing. Brent Welder just lost when he was strongly endorsed by AOC and Bernie.
1
Ja M, ultra leftists do live in a bubble. Look at Brett Welder. They thought he could win last night and he lost. Kyle points to polls and that's it. Meanwhile his candidates, who run on those ideas, are losing.
1
They lost because they are not popular. The ones being pushed the most, like Brent Welder and Alison Hartson, are losing. The ones that are winning are most likely to lose in the general election. Fact is that these ideas Kyle keeps preaching about are not popular.
1
These ideas are not popular. Kyle keeps pointing to polls that are unreliable. You are asking vague questions on complex issues to people who most likely don't understand the issues to begin with. Healthcare is very complex. Asking about support for medicare for all is ignoring cost, taxes, quality, impact on the private sector, etc. When election season comes around more information is given and people vote against those ideas.
