A lot of the rich have done that. They actually worked though. How many Walmart workers do you see just aimlessly walking around and not working hard, or restaurant workers? I worked a dead end job and any slow day I found other things to do such as clean the shelves, move the freezers and cleaned behind them, or I took on more responsibilities that others didn't want to. Those others during slow time just sat and talked. There is a reason why I am not better off than them and in a few years will get my PhD. I actually worked and not stand around and got a paycheck for it.

Or Gates and Buffet could write a check to the government. Or Buffet wouldn't do tactics to pay less taxes.

There is a point to this. How hard to the poor work? They don't have to take their work home with them. They don't have much responsibilities in the work place and dealing with other people and being the face of the workplace. They get money for doing nothing. These days the poor have a greater chance of having a dishwasher, TV, computer. There are those that are poor that have smartphones. The requirements for them are low. Looking for a job? Really? Damn, that must be a hard life. Working two jobs? Damn, must be rough. How about you take a pay cut to work through college to earn more later, or work 60+ hours a week that is a job that actually has responsibilities. Those who are poor don't work. Where does Kyle get this number that the min. wage worker is $20/hr productive? That couldn't be farther from the truth. If you look at the unit labor cost at the full service restaurant since 1987 it has gone up over 3%, that means the price of labor is outpacing productivity and we see it in other low skill jobs as well. This bashing the rich segment by Kyle is just asinine. The rich do work hard, sorry that they decided to work hard in high school, work hard in college, work hard in developing connections which usually involves volunteering. They do work hard. Kyle's definition of hard work is off. But if my career involved cursing behind a mic than I would have poor definition on hard work as well.

You couldn't handle it if you think that is all it is.

A reason why we have a large income gap in this country that is growing is because we do have a group of people at the bottom that simply refuse to work, that are lazy. When I walk around my neighborhood and see graffiti, litter, yards that look like crap, and than go a neighborhood with people who have more money and I see nice yards, almost no litter or graffiti, it does say something. People at the bottom can take steps to improve their lives. They choose to be lazy and can actually make a living off of it, that is easy.
