Marriage is a state issue.  If a state were to recognize marriage by law then they can't discriminate via the 14th amendment.  The left is cheering progress but really that is a very conservative method of doing this, using the constitution, placing limits on governments.  You don't need a federal, unconstitutional bill to enforce equality, you just need to follow the constitution.

Iybraesil And that is the problem.  It is the same problem when Jim Crow laws were put into effect.  People go to extremes on these issues.  Instead of enforcing the 14th amendment people want the federal government to make gay marriage legal and call it a right when all the federal government can do is enforce the 14th amendment.  The approach is all wrong in solving these issues.
