Equality isn't about creating laws in favor of a certain group, it is about making the laws that are equal for everyone. If it is about equality than why no call it the Violence Against People Act? There is a pure political motivation in naming the bill "Violence Against Women Act". The pay fairness have been debunked already in terms of men earning more than women. Rush had a great point. This is about equality. Equality is making laws that cover everyone equally. A lot of those laws favor women which isn't equal. Kyle really digs when he starts talking about teen pregnancy and STDs. So I guess women are the only ones that get STDs and men can't get them. All Kyle did was show how Democrats continue to treat women like second rate citizens that need the government's help. If it were really about equality than treat women, according to the law, like everyone else.

Kyle Reid Men are not favored under law, that is the problem. In law no particular sex should be favored. You don't want to go down that route of picking favorites when it comes to law or creating laws that cater to a certain group. When you do that you open the door to a government that buys votes or oppresses certain groups of people. That is why the 14th amendment was created, to prevent that. Are there things that men excel at and women don't? Yes, but there are things women excel at and men don't. Instead of creating oppressive laws we should be pushing women to excel.

Kyle Reid What is equality to you? How do you determine that? This isn't as easy as you think. In paycheck fairness define a job. Rarely do you see two people working the same job especially in higher paying/higher skilled jobs. You really can't make that determination on if two people are working the exact same job. Plus what is stopping women from running a business and paying women more?
