I love how far leftists always scream "we should do this" but never give details.

@TSBrax you don't give details. You simply say "we need more regulations". Ok, what regulations. You say "we need to spend more in infrastructure". Ok, how much? And on what? You don't understand the complexity of the issue. This is no different than when I hear people at my university say we need more parking garages. However, they do not realize it costs around $30,000 a parking space, and they have around a 80 year payoff timeline. So it is expensive and complex. Now consider this dam. It is the same situation. It is expensive and complex to handle.

@TSBrax owned by government or an individual does not change the issue. It is expensive and again, what regulation? And people are not saying no to repair, when details are given it is shown to be complex and not that easy to manage. Again, look at my example of parking garages. $30,000 a parking space and 80 year payoff time. You also have the complexity of varying cost. For example, the cost of concrete and steel, both needed in a lot of our infrastructure, changes in cost often. Thus you can say a certain project may cost X amount of dollars but may end up costing Y which is more. To give another example, consider the McArther maze in the bay area. CC Myers placed a bid that was lower than what it would have been to build it. But it had an incentive that for each day he completed it earlier than the final date he received more money. He completed it basically a month early and made millions to where the project cost the government more than they projected.

@Bill Anderson Yep, government cuts corners. But let us allow it to run our healthcare and economy. What could go wrong?

@a_can_of_soda hindsight is 20/20 bud. What regulations do you want? Explain and also explain how they would work? I hear all the time the argument of "more regulations" but end up with no answers.

It is a legit question. It isn't like dams are cheap.

With this and her power grab during the virus Whitmer is pushing Michigan to vote for Trump in a landslide.
