  1. ometta7, you are correct, it is around 4% when you factor in things like work hours and skill set where at that point correlation does not equal causation. To actually find it you have to go case by case and prove an employer is paying someone less purely due to sex which is almost impossible. It will also take too much resources to prove either way. It is a non-issue.
