That is a problem of big government. Place limits on the federal government and these problems wouldn't exist. Really this is no different than when people gave money to Bernie for him to win to get the federal government they want.

rettwoods Money in politics is nothing more than a symptom of a disease. That disease is of a federal government with too much power. If the federal government had limited power than it can't be bought. That is why the founding fathers wanted limited federal government and stronger local governments. I have a solid grasps of the situation. Problem is that others don't. People want government to have all this regulatory power but then cry when it gets bought out. That is like loaning someone out your car and then crying when they wreck it.

cesiba1 At the local level you have the greater ability to see if government is actually working for you and if you are getting your money's worth. Especially if you are involved in your local community. You can vote for all of the representatives at the local level and interact with them personally. I met both candidates for mayor in my city, I never met the president. Also at the local level you can move and still remain a US citizen. If a local government simply isn't working out for you than you can move. You have more options and more control at the local level. So yes, local government is better.

rettwoods Everyone has greed. People vote for democrats based off of greed. They support the progressive tax because they envy the rich. I agree people don't vote enough, but we can't expect people to know everything, or even a lot. That is one of the ideas behind a government with limited power. It was to prevent them from taking advantage of a society that is personally just wants to mind their own business and fuck.
