"But Trump raised taxes on the middle class" How?

Red Hood, that was not a tax increase. Learn what taxes are.

Sure, but they will stay in the US. This is why state rights is better than federal intervention.

CEOs produce a lot and do a lot. Without them there will be not jobs for the workers.

Andrew Curley, the CEO does work that very few workers can do. They see trends in the market, in sales, in revenue, etc. They manage the company so it can be ran with efficiency. There is a reason why so many CEOs have engineering degrees. Those workers cannot do what the CEO does. But there are many people that can do what the worker does. That is why they CEO earns so much.
1
Andrew Curley, for one most people earning the min. wage are not poor or are not the sole earner of a household. They are also not working full time. Next, a company that pays that little has a lot of employees, typically. For example, the CEO of Walmart earns around 204 times the median worker. But Walmart hires a lot. If you were to take the salaries of the top 6 executives of Walmart and spread it to the 525,000 lowest paid employees of Walmart those workers will earn an extra $147 a year. That's it. When you look at it like that the CEOs are not earning that much.

What makes you think I am in favor of a plutocracy?

Also, you completely ignored my point.

"Your views seem to indicate that you're in favor of an ever-widening income inequality and defending megacorps that pay their CEOs salaries far beyond anything that could be considered reasonable" What's reasonable? And who are you to decide? Also, a reason why we have growing income inequality is because of policies like this tax. You are adding more work for the CEO to do. They will find a way to earn their money and it will typically cost the lower and middle class. You create another tax and thus another barrier to overcome. " Why should it be up to the American taxpayers to supplement the income of Walmart workers with welfare and food stamps just because Walmart won't pay them a living wage? " Define a "living wage". What is the standard? Also, Walmart does not pay more for one simple reason, they can't afford it.

Walmart works on razor thin profit margins. Most of their profits go to the shares holders. If they do not keep them happy than they will vote in another CEO or sell back their shares causing Walmart to downsize and thus less workers. The reason why Walmart is as large as they are is because of the shareholders. If it weren't for the shareholders they will be no bigger than a Hy Vee or a Raley's (who pay their workers comparable wages, but you do not seem to complain about them). But instead they are large and thus hire more workers.
1
"The national average is like 300x." That is deceptive. How many employees do they hire? For example, if you were to take the top 6 executives of Walmart and take their salary and spread it to the 525,000 lowest paid employees of Walmart, those workers will make an extra $147 a year. That's it.

You say "look at KS" but you also have states like TX and NV. NV cut taxes and got Tesla. Businesses will move. Plus, KS's economy is not terrible as it was around the average GDP growth.
1
This is a state issue, so I support their right to do that. If it works than fine. If you put this at the federal level than businesses just leave the country all together. If they leave Oregon for Nevada they are still in the country.
1
With tariffs you raise the prices of products. So now we don't have jobs and higher prices.
1
Willie, only 7 members of congress comes from my state. How am I supposed to take back the federal government?
1
Chris, businesses are also much larger today than they were in the 70s and create more wealth.
